This weekend will see not only one, but two games that will be dishing out double the experience points for online ranked multiplayer modes.
Both games will have more than that going for them, as each is going to be changing things up this weekend. Call of Duty is going to see some permanent changes made to the ranked map cycles, and Gears of War 2 is getting an update as well as modifying some of it’s modes for this weekend only.
Details after the jump.
Firstly, Call of Duty will finally be using this weekend to make some changes and integrate the Map Pack 2 maps into the online ranked Core and Hardcore rotations.
Gears of War 2 is a little more interesting, as the fourth title update will be releasing this weekend to further balance the game and fix issues.
On top of that, Gears of War 2 is going to have some interesting additions on top of the double experience points. The winning team in ranked matches are not only going to benefit from double the XP, but will also be awarded an additional 500XP for winning the map.
Horde will also see a change, with the ticker squad rearing its head more than usual, and every tenth wave is going to be nothing but Tickers. Horde players will also rake in experience points after every single wave that they beat.
So it looks like a really great weekend for multiplayer, so if you have Gears of War 2 or Call of Duty: World at War, I suggest you break them out and have a weekend of great double experience gaming.
