Update 2: EA Online Support has so far only told us that the demo “might get released after 10 am PST”, but we are still awaiting confirmation via e-mail.

Update: We see that people are confused as to when the demo will be available for their platforms. The official EA website for Dragon Age II states that the demo will be released on February 22. So I think it’s safe to say that you can relax, the demo will be available soon enough.

We have contacted EA and Bioware for an official answer. We will update if we get more information so check back soon.

For now, you can always check out this gameplay video and interview while you wait.

Original story continues below.

Welcome to Dragon Age 2, a game where elderly dragons deal with the day-to-day issues of growing old together while also forming close emotional bonds. Ok not really, but that would be a sweet game right? I’m thinking Golden Girls meets Dragon Slayer (Hey EA, call me if you want to deal).

The demo to the actual highly anticipated BioWare sequel is now available to download on those TV-games computers. Even better, if the demo is downloaded enough, Bioware are going to release some free stuff. Direct links and more after the jump.

Bioware are hoping to please both fans and newcomers alike with some major changes to the core gaming system and new approach. The available demo obviously means that they are pretty happy with whatever it is that they have done and they are hoping that people will try it out.

If the Dragon Age II demo obtains one million logins and downloads across all gaming platforms then Bioware will give away some goodies. These goodies come in the forms of two books, and no, they aren’t Dragon Babes magazines (awww).

The two books, or tomes as those folk with long beards and smelly clothes like to call it, will be The Far Cliffs of Kirkwall – which gives money when you read it (I needs to gets me one of those) and Lothering’s Lament which gives an XP boost.

Completing the demo will also rake you in a sweet sword named Hayden’s Razor, which gives you bonuses to health, abilities and mana in the full game, not to mention that it’s really popular with the ladies.

That’s enough screwing around already, go and queue the demo on Xbox LIVE now or if you don’t have an Xbox 360, leave work this instant, we give you permission. If you don’t see the demo on your platform of choice just yet, be patient, it should rock up soon enough.

Dragon Age II releases on everything (well, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC) March 8 in the US and March 11 everywhere else.
