Dragon Age: Inquisition takes a stab at Ubisoft

EA, as far as I’m concerned, has been making great strides of late to removing itself from the very top of the list of the most hated videogame publisher in all the land. The very vocal people on the internet who like to moan about everything, have had very little vitriol to direct at EA of late. They’ve been giving away games, they’re giving away DLC and have been admitting they’ve made mistakes. Instead, it’s Ubisoft who seems to be climbing the ladder. And now EA’s helping push them them up.

As you know, Assassin’s Creed Unity won’t be 1080p on either of the new consoles, with the game rendering at a barely-distinguishable-to-the-human-eye-unless-you-really-really-concentrate 900p. That’s in itself okay, but Ubisoft’s problem came with the excuses that followed – including the one that launched the #PS4noParity hashtag: the since recanted story of both systems running at 900p for the sake of parity across consoles.

In the wake of that resolution controversy, the Dragon Age: Inquisition  Twitter account has taken something that’s less than positive, and successfully used it to take a subtle jab or two at Ubisoft. Here’s what they said:

Cheeky! Dragon Age: Inquisition is out on the new and old consoles, plus PC towards the end of November. It promises to deliver over 200 hours of RPG action, and significantly more than just one cave.

I have my CD-keys registered with Origin so I just set DA2 to download while playing DA:O.
I’m a bit worried that Origin will interfere but with DA:I coming next month I figure testing Origin is a good idea.

Been using Origin for awhile, since BF3, not bad at all – compared to Upoop anyway – just a bit of a resource hog imo.

Unfortunately I can’t afford to waste the bandwidth to download the game. My BF4 needed a 30gig update when my HDD crashed, so I just haven’t played it in months.

Moments like these make me wonder whether a faster connection speed is worth the sacrifice of having uncapped monthly data…

Considering I have used a 20GB cap in 3 days… uncapped is really important to me, but like you said the speeds (and stability) are definitely lacking.

I’d never survive on 20gigs… Which ISP you with?

Recently switched to OpenWeb, weak stability-wise but worth it for the speed and (more importantly) price.

The orc that kills you get’s promoted to captain, which stands to reason that if I’m to awesome to die there shouldn’t be random orc promotions. But I can see why they do this, I mean it will make the nemesis system useless if they don’t replenish their ranks somehow.

I was on Origin on Friday. The store has some good prices on certain games, high prices on others, seems a bit unbalanced. Uplay is all in Euro, so I’ll never spend money on there.
Luckily when I start an EA game on Steam it doesn’t force me to open Origin, different to Ubisoft that always forces you to open U(kak)play.
That said. I’m currently playing Valiant Hearts from UbiArts. Wow, that’s a brilliant little game.

Console retail games are not linked to profiles nor linked to console. Retail console games can be sold and bough second-hand.

The trend now is always online games. So they getting people ready to accept full DRM on consoles next time around.

Ahh, if you follow the main story missions, for about 6 or so hours (till you reach about 12 of them, it unlocks another map)

          • Captain JJ Underleyened

            October 13, 2014 at 09:55

I’ve been enjoying killing everything I run into so much that I’ve only done three of the main quest missions yet. But I had no idea about the other map, now I seriously want to play some more.

          • GalacticLordCaptainAwesomeness

            October 13, 2014 at 09:58

Play the story missions, it will unlock your wraith abilities quickly. I played them until i got the second map unlocked. with that you get the dominate ability, so then i went back and started turning the entire orc army to follow me.

Also, you want the captains to be at a higher level so they drop better runes. let one or 2 of them escape every now and again.

            October 13, 2014 at 10:03

            October 13, 2014 at 10:25

maps not massive, but the second one mixxes it up a bit.
i made a point of getting all the colelctables, side missions and killing ALL THE THINGS befor getting too into the story.

the nemesis system is pretty cool, but ive only had trouble with one or two guys. so no ones alive long enough to really be a nuisance.
