Dragon age sexy

Gaming can teach us all kinds of strange things – almost anyone can do parkour, hanging from ceilings and killing people is worthy of an achievement, and sexual relationships can happen with anyone if you just say the right things at the right times. Now, Bioware is looking to make relationships in Dragon Age more realistic, and mature.

Dragon Age romances were typically rather wooden, and not in the way we’d want them to be. The romantic dialogue was stilted and awkward, and when characters did consummate their relationship it just looked weird – sometimes it seemed more like they were grappling with each other while wearing negligee. Bioware has looked into making the graphics for these liaisons, and the build up to them, more realistic. Speaking to Gamerzines, Cinematic Director Jonathan Perry explained:

We certainly could push those romance scenes in any direction we wanted really. Something that didn’t work well is that we tried more, well I won’t say graphic[…]

Certainly when you have these characters interacting with each other in such an intimate way it’s incredibly expensive in terms of animation fidelity and getting it to look like they are really there and touching each other. […] You might have a nude character but they are framed in such a way that parts of them are in shadow, or having characters in various states of undress.

Not only will they be changing the roll-around-in-the-shadows elements, players will have to be focused on more than just the sex itself. Perry explains that the romantic encounters are now designed to be a culmination of spending a lot of time with a character and getting to know them. Does this mean that we are moving beyond just selecting the heart option in the dialogue wheel? Or does it just mean that it will take more effort to get your character of choice into the shadows?

I’m seriously excited about Dragon Age Inquisition. No, not the shadow part, although that will be fun, too. I’m excited to see what Bioware brings to the table, and how they learn from their mistakes. Is this an insta-buy for you guys, or are you still feeling a bit burned after Dragon Age II?

Honestly still don’t see the point of this level of relationships in games. Go out and have a real one. Games are there for escapism. not for more of the real world stuff.

    Just my view though

i think its just to ad something extra in the game, something else to do like a mini game you know.
A little side project to try and shag that elusive sorceress in between questing and normal gameplay.

No seriously. I don’t get why I would want to do that in a game?

I guess there are others who enjoy it or don’t mind or see some form of value added to the game in regards to realism or whatever. But I just simply don’t see it from a personal level.

Hmmm, I would like to give input on these “romance” options in games like this. Why do all the scenes look so “vanilla”? Speaking from a ME point of view, why would the scenes for a Paragon and Renegade be the same? Why is the scene between my rugged Renegade Soldier not more “forceful and passionate” with the Soldier Ashley, and the sissy Paragon Infiltrator not “soft and loving and cuddly”. More realism and “dynamic” scenes based on your choices in the game would make the pursuit of “love” so much more interesting and worth while! The pervert has ranted…now to RSVP for that party…

I am talking more about raw, animalistic passion like you sometimes see in the movies. There is a difference between “making love”, simple “f-ing” and “raw passionate f-ing”, so if the choices my character made would have an influence on how they acted in the bedroom or how the other party reacted (without being too fetishist or demeaning) that would add more variety to the scenario
How you got to slapping your love around only you will know hehe (but there are people like that out there with strange fetishes that turn even my stomach)

Ha ha. No. Bitch slapping was meant to be an off side comment. But no… I would like to see a bit more choice in the matter too, depending on the romance interest involved, for example. Say Ashley Williams, being a soldier and lover of poetry may prefer tender with some rough elements to it. Go all out rough and zero tenderness and she reacts negatively towards you for the rest of the game.
Jack on the other hand, will not like it all sweet and innocent with Air Supply blaring in the background. Get what I am saying?

I mean, it was fun and all, (I played the intro for almost every class) but it felt really old-school. Skyrim’s levelling system just felt like such an improvement to the RPG mechanics. Bioware are one of my favourite developers and Dragon Age: Origins was one of my favourite RPGs this generation (not THE favourite… But right up there) so yeah, this is probably an insta-buy for me.

Sure, DA II wasn’t the game we all wanted it to be… But, to be honest, I enjoyed some of it. So it won’t keep me away. Besides, Bioware run the Mass Effect franchise – which means they know what they’re doing when it comes to gameplay and story telling (no, don’t mention the ME3 ending, please!).

Very much looking forward to some more Dragon Age!

They’ve told good stories overall, but I think they’ve watered down the RPG mechanics for the sake of “accessibility.” ME2 is my favourite game of the series, but I’m still annoyed by how they gimped the equipment customisation compared to ME1. Hope they don’t carry on doing that.

Yeah, I would agree with that. I’m also hoping for a bit more DA:O and ME1 in this one. 🙂 The DNA is there, damn it – they must use it!

More mature? What does that even mean? More dry humping in dirty brown-coloured underpants. or are they taking a page from HBO or Showtime or the Witcher 2’s play book? Seriously Bioware, don’t fear the nipple! It’s natural. Sex is natural!
