Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen coming to PC on January 15

Dragon’s Dogma is the very definition of a Marmite game. Like that black, sticky goo, it’s something you either love with all of your heart, or something you despise, right from the centre of your being.

We know the game’s coming to PC soon, so PC gamers will get to decide whether they hate it with the fire of a thousand suns as well, or it’s the sort of game that has them delivering sweet, sweet sonnets.

We now know when it’ll be coming; 15 January – so you’ll be able to ring in the new year with Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen on your PC, which brings with it some new areas, 60 fps gameplay and support for 4K resolutions. Here are the game’s specs, so you know if your system has the necessary fortitude.

Minimum

  • OS: Windows Vista or newer
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 660 CPU or equivalent
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Radeon HD 5870 or equivalent
  • DirectX: Version 9.0c
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 22 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX-compatible sound card or onboard audio chip

Recommended

  • OS: Windows Vista or newer
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4770K or equivalent
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 or equivalent
  • DirectX: Version 9.0c
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 22 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX-compatible sound card or onboard audio chip

The recommended specs aren’t too bad – but there’s no way on earth you’ll get the game running at 4K, especially not at 60fps.

And a trailer!

It looks like a less emo Dark Souls.

To be honest, I will play this game 5 times from the beginning till end before going through Dark Souls pain.

After a long day at the office, I want to relax and enjoy gaming.

It is R360 on steam… it is a steal!

That’s not bad at all. I would’ve guessed double that amount.

It really befuddles me when I hear that people hated this game. I thoroughly enjoyed my time running around in it. But then again, give me any game where I can throw spells around and I’ll get enjoyment out of it.

Me neither. I thought it was a JRPG, but the protagonists all look older than 13 and don’t have rainbow coloured hair.

Which one is made from animals? That probably tastes better.

I wish Capcom would bring Asura’s wrath to PC instead.

Or as I would call it “PC game of the year: 2016” – Capcom deserves mad props for this game. One of my all time favourites on the last gen consoles.
