DriveClub’s new Japanese track looks quite scenic

DC Japan

Oh, I’m turning Japanese I’m turning Japanese I’m turning Japanese I’m turning Japanese I’m turning Japanese I’m turning Japanese I’m turning Japanese I’m turning Japanese I’m turning Japanese!

And not in a horribly racist way either. I’m looking at you Sean Connery. DriveClub has been out for a while now, and the recent influx of patches have resulted in a better game. The kind of game that should have been available on launch day, but clearly I’m just being pissy.

New content is on the way of course, with your local DriveClub making a stop in the land of the rising sun next, for the Nakasendo course, as was detailed on the Facebook page for the game. Here’s a video of the track in action, via GamesHQ:

It’s an epic point-to-point drive offering plenty of wide open sections for high speed overtaking and loooong switchbacks where you can get your drift on. The car we’re driving is new too. It’s the awesome Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Centennial Edition, included in the Season Pass and also available as part of an upcoming Expansion Pack.

The game is certainly looking better these days, thanks to some nifty environmental effects that were added recently to the retail edition. As for the PS Plus edition, that one has suffered a slight delay of three months and counting. I’ve personally just lost interest in the game entirely, and found myself drifting back to Forza Horizon 2 over the last couple of weeks, despite DriveClub becoming a more competent title.

That stereo. You can actually hear if a car is about to pass on the left or right. Will definitely grab the free edition as soon as they’re done with the BETA

It’s a feature I didn’t know it had, or if other racing games had. It’s perfect for when you wear a headset. Allows you to block the other cars from passing.

I know, it’s really cool but I thought all racing games been having it…..since the 90’s? ????

I still dont like this game, bought it day one and it still sucks! Feels so incomplete even with all the updates!

The thing that pisses me off the most of this game is I’ll be flying 240 KM/H, pushing the car to its absolute max. Then all of a sudden a more inferior car speeds pass me even though my car is 2 times faster than his as if I’m looking for parking. Then to make it even worse he takes the next corner like a BOSS TOO! Where I just crash into the barriers seeng that its impossible to drive so fast while taking a corner.

    What BS!

Going to disagree only because I think its an excellent game. I have nearly completed the main game and all DLC stars in all races. A few of the hyper racer stars still to get. Maybe you too use to sim-style games and playing it like that? Because yeah you need to corner like a Ridge Racer game.

I love the game – they have slowly fixed it and was easily in my top 1,000 games of 2014 :).

Seriously though if anyone is considering it and like arcade style racers then its a great game.

have to say for me 2014 was quite disappointing new gen wise, but DC, though horrible at first (only online, offline awesome) but now it is really amazing, save for the fact that the most basic thing in a racing game is a replay mode which is lacking in DC. I would rather they paused with the DLC’s and got the basics right first.
Promised myself I will sell off my DC if PC comes out before they update DC with a replay mode

I really hope by the time I get to buy a PS4 that DriveClub will have almost no insane bugs that inhibits gameplay. I havent played a good arcade racer in a while. The Crew just looks horrible to me as well. Forza 6 Id look forward to and I think Forza Horizon 2 looks fantastic, but not sure on which console to really go for at the end of the day.

actual gameplay has zero cherry blossoms.
    that was pretty irritating.
