E3 2014 – The EA press conference in pictures

EA When it comes to press conferences, EA usually funnels in plenty of asses into a cramped space to show off sports, social and shooting games. This year, the invite list was smaller, the event was more intimate and Peter Moore may have taken an “Oscar Selfie”. Pity the rest of the show wasn’t as rad.

EA started off strong, but a lacklustre half that consisted of sports games and a selection of upcoming games that felt more like a concept art showcase didn’t help lessen the boredom.

With Battlefield: Hardline also having been leaked a few weeks earlier, there were no real surprises this year. Well besides food poisoning judging by the amount of oil on the doughnuts that were handed out to people.

I actually enjoyed EA’s show… was full of the usual stuff (except NFS) but the presentation and vids were pretty cool. I like what they’ve done with FIFA 15, Mirror’s Edge, Dragon Age, The Sims 4 and PGA Tour 15.

As with everything they do, it goes well until EA gets involved.

i didn’t see the point of that early Criterion reveal. (LOL@ “I think i died and got reincarnated as a GoPro)

and i really wish they had more to show us for Mirror’s Edge, Mass Effect and Star Wars. Those fluffy “developer reflections” were a little too hipster/pretentious. A CG trailer would have been better than that drivel. (But i guess they did succeed in making me want to know more about those titles)
