Black-Ops-3

You think you know Call Of Duty? Well, you might be right. And that’s why Call of Duty: Black Ops III is going to totally shake up your world view baby.

Before you ask, yes, it’s true. Traditional movement in Call Of Duty games is pretty much dead. It’s all about quicker reflexes, faster methods of getting around a map and more options when dealing with enemies. Which all ties into the philosophy behind Call Of Duty: Black Ops III. At a hands-on event last night, I got to feel a game that offered more fluidity in its movement system.

Wall-runs, power-slides and jump-boosts were all fine and dandy, but the game really came together when those moves were chained together in order to deliver some fantastic kills and bring down the pain. Originally, I was like a deer caught in the headlights in the game, but the system was intuitive enough for me to get the hang of it, and score a few kickass kills of my own. Here’s a video of all that action, lovingly rendered at the full 1080p and 60 frames per second that you expect:

Another shake-up comes in the form of the new Specialist classes. Each with their own unique abilities to throw down with. There’s nine of them to choose from, and I got my hands on several of them last night. Each specialist can charge up their primary pre-selected skill, unleashing a specific kind of pain. Ruin for instance, can nail enemies with a close-range area effect attack, while Seraph will most likely suit marksmen with her one-hit kill hand cannon ability.

Blops

Reaper, a war robot that may or may not be a touch overpowered, activates a huge arm-mounted chain-gun, while Outrider may have been my favourite. Get his ability all charged up, and you can unleash all kinds of havoc with extreme archery. Last night’s build was apparently a pre-alpha version of the game. But honestly, the Call of Duty multiplayer from last night felt like it was much further in development than that. That’s just a taste of what’s in store for Call Of Duty this year however.

Treyarch have always developed Call Of Duty games where the devil was in the details. And I think veterans are going to get a kick out uncovering all the new nuances in this latest title. We’ve got more footage coming up for Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3. Keep an eye out for it soldier.

Like I said budd, if you enjoy the pvp side of things like in Destiny then you might enjoy this as well. Just be prepared as it will be a lot faster than Destiny.

That is the thing, I really do like the PvP in Destiny. I think I would like the action a bit faster sometimes. Maybe then an ass with a Sniper Rifle won’t just sit and shoot all 3 of us without us landing one shot in the elimination game mode…

Looks pretty good to me. I like Treyarch’s work though, so i’m biased.

Darren, you have improved and you got some decent kills. I like that you pay attention to the objective but now we need to teach you to aim. There is an aim button. Press it….

Edit: Ok, I see towards the middle of the vid, you discovered the aim button.

He does eventually, I think someone told him there is an aim button or he found it by accident. But trust me he has improved. First video I saw of Darren playing CoD, he couldn’t run straight or aim. He was the free kill standing there. He can string moves together now and get kills. That’s an improvement.
