Some one must have heard my desperate prayers, because Electronic Arts and Ubisoft are now offering each other’s titles on Uplay and Origin. I actually think that this is a really, really awesome thing. Since I was pleasantly surprised with Uplay and prefer it to Origin.
In just two days time every one in the world will be able to purchase Assassin’s Creed III, Far Cry 3 and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction on Origin.
“The heart of any valuable gaming service is delivering all the great content that players want, and the addition of Ubisoft’s top PC titles on Origin, as well as EA’s titles to Uplay, is a big win for all of our players,” said Michael Blank, Vice President of Production for Origin at EA. “Today, Origin is reaching more players than ever before, and these exciting additions from Ubisoft show how committed we are to continually expanding the roster of hit games available and ready for download on Origin.”
And in the lighter side of life, games like Dead Space 3, FIFA Soccer 13, Need for Speed Most Wanted, Mass Effect 3 and The Sims 3 and Crysis 3 is available on Uplay. According to PC Gamer this is all part of expanding third-party support to bring games from many different developers on Ubisoft’s Uplay. The mentioned developers are:

- bitComposer Games
- Bohemia Interactive
- Encore Software
- Focus Home Interactive
- Freebird Games
- Iceberg Interactive
- Nordic Games
- Paradox Interactive
- Recoil Games
- Robot Entertainment
- Telltale Games
- Torn Banner Studios
It’ll be very interesting to see what happens with these game sales in the future, if more of EA’s games get bought on Uplay or if things stay the same. That being said, Ubisoft titles on more platforms can only be a good thing.

Yeah 🙁 Everything about Steam is better, but if I HAD to choose, I’d choose Uplay over Origin.

I think mostly because I’ve never had any trouble with it. Even though it doesn’t serve the same purpose Steam does to me, it always works when launching a game like Far Cry 3. I also really like the Uplay points system where you can redeem extra goods for your games, without having to pay for them.
Origin on the other hand… after an OS re install, I’d have my account say I don’t own games I bought anymore, it takes a long time to change basic profile information, most of the time it says the service is down. I just experience it as a hassle :S

lol, you arent the only one who has had issues with origin after reinstalling your OS.
that moment when it tells you your game is not installed and you’re shouting “BUT ITS RIGHT THERE STUUUUUPID!” at your monitor

I cannot agree more. Origin is what made me quit BF3; that and EA’s inability to get my account working again. It must have been really bad because I haven’t played an online FPS since.

I had more issues with bf3 premium and the silly weblauncher idea than I had with origin. got used to the weblauncher eventually, but premium still gets my goat…
origin was HIDEOUS for mass effect 3 though, the EA servers are completely useless. with the amount of downtime they experience, i sometimes wonder what the point was of them spending all that money on them…

I could live with it not being steam, if origin would just be… more like steam, and you know, worked.
smart move merging uplay and origin, i would have lost my nut if I had to install another game manager.
