In a major blow to cricket fans everywhere, EA Games has announced that Cricket 09 is not in production.
Peter Moore has had to come out and make a statement as the rumour about Cricket 09 has started to get out of hand due to the shear number of cricket fans pushing for this game to appear.
According to Mr Moore
“Despite whatever you may have read online, we have absolutely nothing to announce about a cricket gameâ€
And
“As per my previous posts on this issue, if and when we have an announcement to make about a title, we will do so in a timely and structured manner. But in this case, no amount of persistent pushing can create a game that does not exist…sorryâ€
Which leaves us with no doubt that a cricket game is not in production but it does leave us wondering why not? If the cricket fans could make enough noise to get this sort of response isn’t that a bit enough market to ensure that making the game is worthwhile?
Hopefully we get to see Cricket 2010 I guess?

I’m trying to get some clarity out of EA SA — I got a release schedule two days ago from them that had ICC Cricket 09 scheduled for a May release

Listen i just want to say ,i’m sick and tired of waiting for these 2 games(rugby & cricket).I bought my PS3 with these 2 games in mind but it’s not an American sport so we can forget about it!This is why the PS3 is not selling to it’s full potential because games like littlebig…. and all sorts are being made were there are not enough strong titles for sport!People say that rugby doesn’t sell well ,this is mainly because up to now it’s been a half arsed effort.Lets be reasonable EA America is you’re no1 but countries like Australia ,SA,New Zealand ,India etc add to you’re massive revenue per annum ,the least you can do is make a game that we’ll enjoy like America enjoys NFL.
If you don’t want to make them give the license to someone who will!It defeats the object to have a license you’re never gonna use. :angry: You probably won’t even read this but thats not my problem i’ll just sell my PS3 and get a WII .At least the WII ghets used to it’s full potential.

Who the **** is Moore? He need some education before saying things to the fans on behalf of a company. He doesn’t know the first thing about politeness. FU Moore, FU. EA… only cares about making money. They would make money with a new cricket game but may be not as much as they make with like fifa. Greedy… They’ve put so much effort on fifa that now pes sales growth is positive and fifa’s… negative. Someday someone will take over ur cricket title and I honestly hope u loose fifa license to pes.
