Not the grass you expected right?

EA’s new sports titles are all being rendered with a new engine called Ignite which has apparently been developed with the future, and more power, in mind.

In this video we get to hear the brains behind the Madden franchise explain and show exactly how the Ignite engine and next gen power is changing everything for gamers and spectators alike.

It really is something quite impressive and if it’s not all smoke and mirrors I think sporting fans have a lot to look forward to in the next generation.

I can’t wait to see Rooney’s agony face when he misses every shot he ever tries.

Smoked emo. I think it might be a bit bitter. And it’ll probably make more smoke than it needs to just so it show everyone that it doesn’t want to be noticed.

Now we just need to wait another decade for dust/grass and dirt to be added when you kick a ball.

Maybe the next Fifa will have a farmville mini game where you can grow crops next to the pitch and tend to them at half time.

renders each blade of grass? They said the same thing about the engine in Forza 2 all those years ago. Maybe it can, maybe it can’t but all you’re going to see is loads of green regardless.

MEH, Crysis 3D on PC was already mindblowing with the terrain and immersion. Looking at next-gen specs I don’t even think they’ll be able to run that title in 1080p at 60fps without “making allowances” ie downscaling.
The Forza 5 video’s I’ve seen look pretty decent but need some serious antialiasing before release. Antialiasing on every blade of grass on a football field…? It’s my eyes I tell you, just can’t see it happening…
