Enslaved

Enslaved is one of my most anticipated upcoming titles and while I wasn’t that interested before E3 my hands on with the title really opened up my eyes to the possibilities.

We managed to score an interview with the developers which you can read here where they stated that the Xbox 360 is no longer the easier platform to develop on… so lets take a look at the latest ingame screenshots and see if that holds true or not.

I can see some slight differences here and there but they are all based around lighting and I wouldn’t say that either actually looks better than the other… or am I missing something?

As always click to browse and then with these you can use the little icon in the top right to zoom into full size.

Minute differences but the HDR lighting seems to be slightly a bit better on the 360 when I turn on my monitors Dynamic Contrast setting. But I doubt anyone will notice it much unless they game frame by frame

Yeah I noticed that the PS3 images look a tad blurry, which usually mean a lower res that’s been upscaled, but it doesn’t make sense considering these guys did the Heavenly Sword PS3 exclusive?

PS3 top Xbox bottom… the only one I really saw something different (after Nick showed me) is the bottom left one where the lady is really blurred on the PS3 version compared to the Xbox 360 version

I remember the days of 16 bit, where they would go with each consoles strengths for each game. It usually ended up with the SNES looking better, but not playing quite as smooth.

Now, all they do is try to make every game the same on each system. Those pics look almost identical. My laptop has a pitifully low res screen, so I’ll look again on the desktop… But the only reason to buy a game on one over the other is if you’re more invested in Trophies or Achievements, and if you’re playing multiplayer, then where your friends are.

I want someone to make a game for both PS3 and 360, and use the strength of each system to show us what really can be done on each.

Oh, cut the crap! THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE! I zoomed in all these screen caps and saw NOTHING different. Both versions look the same. Now… I don’t know if they will PLAY the same. We’ll see…

Hmm there is an unwritten rule in video gaming that he who has the most powerful system must loose the console wars i.e Master System,Neo Geo, N64,XBOX 1 and now PS3 I honestly though SONY would have understood this rule by now. Graphics don’t win console wars eccessible game libriaries do…. ie NES, SNES, PSOne, PS2 and now the Wii.

How to tell x360 vs PS3? Look at the textures. x360 = a little sharper, a little more depth and grit to it. I own both consoles and I like gritty textures that pop for a game like this. Resident Evil 5 is a good example, this game isn’t as pronounced, but I can tell. Probably because I play way too much Res 5 on the 360. I’ll be interested to see how it “plays out,” literally! Frankly, I only buy exclusives for my PS3 and use it as a Blu-Ray play to drive the home theater. Sony really pissed me off when they eliminated backward compatibility and install other OS features. Never was a loyal fan, because… well, THEY’RE NOT PAYING ME – glad I could clear that up for ya. 360 controller is where it’s at kids.

Actually Digital foundry says they are both 720P and the only differences are in the motion blur employed but thanks for clearing up that you arent a fanboy. You really convinced me Tim
