Everything you need to know about Far Cry 4…

Will not be done in a comprehensive article this morning. Look, it’s early in the morning, I have to wash my sheets after the cats had a fight on top of me that ended in fur and urine being shed everywhere and I’m all out of cereal. While I get this mess sorted, you can instead enjoy eight minutes of super official action courtesy of Ubisoft.

Far Cry 4 is out next week. I’m still not convinced that it’s much more than Far Cry 3.5, but as always, I’m always open to being proven wrong in this sort of matter. Set in the fictional kingdom of Kyrat, players will need to murder their way across the kingdom and look like a complete badass when they ride an elephant in order to topple the regime of Pagan Min. Much like previous Far Cry games, there’ll be plenty to do in the rather pretty Himalayan mountains.

And at this point, Ubisoft needs a decent hit after the savaging that Assassin’s Creed Unity got this week. Far Cry 4 will be out on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, so you can get either an old or a new-gen fix.

  1. That header, and then they don’t tell me that Ace is going to be a playable character. Well, this is just plain disappointing. ;P

Seeing as how some people complained about bad frame rates on old consoles and seeing Far Cry 4 being released on old gen consoles. Far Cry 4 is more like a Far Cry 3.2.

Ubisoft did something odd and I’m not sure if they did this on purpose. Their PR department kept flapping their jaws about Unity and the parity between consoles which stoked the fanboy flames, the exclusion of female characters, adding enormous microtransactions, etc. while keeping mum about FC4 for the most part. I believe FC4 will be better off for it.

Hype seems to kill the review scores these days…. marketing a game must be like walking through a minefield.

Oh I’ll get it eventually. They’re not on complete ban, although it’s getting there.

      WHAT!

Aw man, FC3 was one of those games that I just straight out enjoyed from the moment I booted the disk till the credits rolled. (maybe thats just me).

And Vaas, he’s going up in the Gaming Halls of Fame methinks.

Sadface that you didn’t enjoy it.

I did enjoy it, but not enough to finish it. :/

        I know, I’m weird.

          10 inches.

That is the height of the pile of games that I’ve played till the 2nd last mission…. for some reason I always leave the finish for some other day…. my wife says I have some issues around completion apparently….

Except the story was trash and Vaas was the definition of insanity.

O man happy wheel elephants, M1A1 Tuk-tuks seems like a lot of fun but no way in hell I’m dropping R1k+ to be first to experience big day one patches and bugs. Will be on the shortlist for Christmas next year.

Really looking forward to this game. Looks fantastic…of course I expect it to be similar to FC3. If it was not it would not be FC imo…6 more sleeps!

Seeing him at the start scenes where you meet him at the border gate, he seems like one of those guys thats all buddy buddy and all of a sudden your neck is cut from ear to ear and hes like you made bro?

Ubisoft have not released the shock of the micro transactions yet, seems to be the new Ubisoft module so glad I did not pre-order unity. Very sceptical about Far Cry
