More evidence points towards imminent The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim remaster

The Elder Scrolls Skyrim could be getting remastered2

When it comes to reminiscing about Bethesda’s last Elder Scrolls title, I strictly fall into the camp that agrees it probably wasn’t as good as everyone made it out to be. Skyrim is massive and expansive, but it’s also a little lifeless and boring the more you get into it. At least, that was my experience, and I know that most players still to this day can’t get enough of it. So it makes sense that Bethesda could be preparing a remaster of sorts, for reveal at E3.

A few days ago industry insider and generally on point Shinobi602 stated that he had heard about a remaster through the grapevine, and that it would be launching in November later this year. This rumour was lead some credence yesterday though, after a retailer listing let slip that the collection could indeed be on the table. According to British retailer Base, we’re in for a Definitive Edition of Skyrim pretty soon.

Skyrim Remaster leaked on retailer website

This makes a lot of sense in two ways. Firstly, Skyrim is still selling, and Bethesda probably are fully aware of how much selling potential a better locking, complete bundle of the game has. Secondly, they just wrapped up Fallout 4 last year, and it would be surprising to see them talk about a new entry into the series this early on. A remaster like this could bridge the gap between the two, while Bethesda pushes out remaining Fallout 4 DLC while (supposedly) planning their next Elder Scrolls step. If it supports mods on consoles, like Fallout 4 does, it’ll probably be a winner.

We’re more than likely to see this reveal take place on Sunday, when Bethesda hosts their own E3 conference before the show kicks off. That show is already promising new looks at Dishonored 2 and hopefully some new DOOM content, so Skyrim should slot right in nicely.

That is if you haven’t tired yet or killing dragons and getting arrows in the knee. Personally, I think we’ve already reached the peak of what Skyrim can offer.

I don’t really get why they are doing this. You can mod this game to look a million times better than what the developers are going to do to a remaster.

When it comes to Skyrim I’m in Camp Sandy. I got progressively more bored with it as I went along. Haven’t even bothered playing the DLC except the house building one for an hour or 2.

Same this side, I actually tried playing it again the other day, I made it past the point where I created my character, it only took well…A few minutes, needless to say, I woke up with keyboard imprints on my face the next day…

        Not impossible at all. O_o

One of the houses was bugged – but a user made patch fixed it. All other content is completable.

lol you can finish it though. There’s a lot to do, but if you don’t get sidetracked and explore with no real goal in mind (a lot of the fun is there though) – then you can finish all the stuff easy.

Uh, there are extensive mods and SweetFX presets that make Skyrim already look probably better than any remaster Bethesda can cook up.

Bethesda should be working on a new Elder Scrolls. They gave us TESO kak, when all we want is Elder Scrolls VI. Now this. I’m getting tired of Bethesda’s crap.

TESO was made by Bethesda’s parent studio. The TES team had nothing to do with it. The Skyrim Remaster was actually made while they started to develop Fallout 4. They used Skyrim to experiment updating their engine before fully starting development on Fallout 4 past the conceptual stage.

Also, the might say they’re not working on TES VI, but there lying. The Fallout/TES teams are separate, even though they don’t want us to think that. The fact is, a Fallout developer is quoted from last E3 saying he started right on Fallout 4 after Fallout 3. TES VI has been in development for five years now, they just want us not to be expecting it next year.

I know this. Regardles, TESO isn’t an Elder Scrolls game at heart.

Yeah, When all the hype dies down over the next 6 months in gaming, I plan on purchasing a game of the year version that includes all the new content and savor it like a good book. For now, things are a touch erratic both in terms of new releases and cashflow.

THE WITCHER 3 totally KILLED SKYRIM in every way possible. CD Projekt Red lifted the bar so darn high that returning to Skyrim is just unfeasible.

I have no idea why gamers are excited about this. Have they even played Witcher?
