Once a month, we’ll be looking at the available (or imminently available) games we think should be jostling for your cash. Here are the games you want for July.

Remember, you can get these games from exclus1ves.co.za by clicking the links for each game. Exclus1ves is still currently offering free shipping anywhere within SA, making them one of the most affordable ways to get your game on. Also, as some you asked in the comments, I’ve discussed delivery times with the fine folk from Exclus1ves, and they’ve assured me that they’ve sorted out their distribution woes – meaning you should get your games on time. Hooray!

The Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time 3D
Published By: Nintendo
Platforms: Nintendo 3DS

Zelda

One of the most critically acclaimed games of all time is back, enhanced and in 3D. Originally released in 1998 for the Nintendo 64, Ocarina has been revamped to include better textures, shiner graphics and new modes.

Why do you want this game?

Many consider this to the greatest video game ever made, and now you get to have it in all its majesty in the palm of your hand.  Those of you complaining of a lack of 3DS games need look no further, because Ocarina’s un-missable sprawling epic will keep you entertained for dozens of hours.

Shadows of the Damned
Published By: EA
Platforms: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360

SotD

It’s only in dreams that legendary game developers like Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami and No More Heroes’ Goichu Suda collaborate on a project – making Shadows of the Damned a dream – or nightmare – come true.

Why do you want this game?

Its violent, edgy, childishly puerile and unapologetically adolescent, but it manages to be charming and full of heart at the same time. Plus, where else are you going to get a demonically charged explosive-firing gun called “The Hot Boner?”

Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition
Published By: Capcom
Platforms: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC

SFIVAE

Yeah, there’s a good chance you’ve bought Street Fighter IV once or twice already – but if you’re a keen player you’ll be getting this anyway for the new balance tweaks and increased roster of players. Even if you’re not an enthusiast, this is great way to get the most updated version of this generations most influential fighting game.

Why do you want this game?

Well, it’s cheap for starters – giving you the definitive version of the game for a fraction of the price. Plus, you know you want to kick ass with Evil Ryu and an even more demonic version of Akuma. It’s the last version of Street Fighter Iv you’ll ever have to buy…maybe.

Transformers : Dark of the Moon
Publisher: Activision
Platforms: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii, 3DS

Transformers

Video game adaptions of films tend to be a little on the crap side, but sometimes they have a little effort put in to them. Dark of the Moon doesn’t quite escape the realms of mediocrity, but it’s from the same team who brought you the surprisingly rather good, untethered-to-any-film War for Cybertron. It serves as a prequel to the film, so if you’re a Transformers fan looking to flesh out the story, then this is a no-brainer.
