LA Noire

corpse

L.A. Noire has taken the gaming world by storm since its release a few weeks back. This gangster filled, post-war Hollywood is overflowing with corruption and drug addicts and its up to you, LAPD detective Cole Phelps to save the day.

Why do you want this game?

Rockstar Games have taken a huge step up from their usual GTA madness, and delivered a classy, well executed game and the new animation technology captures every inch of the actor’s facial performance in amazing detail.
Across the internet, the game is scoring high with little to complain about and in my opinion, a must have game for any fan who enjoys chasing down suspects, interrogating witnesses and bringing the city out of the shadows of corruption.

The Witcher: Assassins of Kings
Published By: Namco Bandai
Platforms: PC

Witcher2

The Witcher 2 has been one of Lazygamers most anticipated titles of 2011. From boobs to beasts, the Witcher 2 has it all and it is clear that developer CD Projekt has truly outdone themselves.
Based on the dark fiction of Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, the original was one of my favourite RGP experiences and Assassins of Kings has blown everyone away.

Why do you want this game?

Not only has this enchanting RPG drawn a lot of attention, but is also looking to be a easy contender for GOTY. Built upon completely new technology, it delivers visuals never before seen in a RPG and with a new combat system to top it all off, the Witcher 2 is one of the year’s must have titles.

Dirt 3

Published By: Codemasters
Platforms: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC

dirt

DiRT 2 was the first racing game I ever played on my PS3 and it blew me away. With a huge variety of tracks and a multiplayer that actually worked, Rally fans got what they were waiting for.
Now developers Codemasters have released DiRT 3, and after much deliberation and thought on how to describe it in a way that would portray just how awesome Dirt 3 is, I came to this conclusion.
Imagine you had DiRT 2, now take everything you didn’t like about the game and get rid of these features. Now replace them with the most awe-inspiring graphics, the perfect car handling, brilliant menu design and some of the realistic car sounds ever, and put it all back into DiRT 2. Done? Good. Now go and get some of the most hardcore steroids you can find and inject the sucker… the result, DiRT 3.

Besides the obvious, DiRT 3 comes with more cars, locations and a brand new event called Gymkhana, where it pays to be a show-off.

Duke Nukem Forever
Published By: Take 2
Release Date: 10 June 2011
Platforms: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC

theduke

2K Games and Gearbox defiantly have a lot to prove with Duke Nukem Forever. With countless delays, development issues and even a few rumours of the whole project shutting down… again, when the game evenly does come out it will be interesting to see who picks this one up and who has given up on Duke.

Why do you want this game?

Who doesn’t want to shoot hoops, lift weights, play pinball, pool, air hockey, and slots in your spare time? When it comes to Duke Nukem, I am definitely not given up. I have been looking forward to this game since it was announced way back in 1998. From all the trailers, screenshots and even Duke’s constant stream of hilarious one-liners, Duke Nukem Forever is looking awesome and a must have for any fan of the series.  Oh and did I mention it comes with an all new multiplayer mode?

InFAMOUS 2
Published By: SCEE
Released Date: 8 June 2011
Platforms: PS3
infamous2awesome

Cole MacGrath is back, and is as shocking as ever! InFAMOUS 2 brings what all InFAMOUS fans have been waiting for and felt lacked from the original title. From wielding god-like superpowers to exploring a far bigger and vibrant open world, InFAMOUS 2 is looking better than ever!

Why do you want this game?

Well considering Sony has just offered InFAMOUS for free digital download on the PlayStation Store (whenever it comes back online) for the PSN hack as a reward program for sticking with them, it is the perfect opportunity for those who haven’t played the first game to download it, have a amazing gaming expe
rience and then jump onto the sequel straight away.  Two for the price of one? Hell yeah!
