fable-patch Lionhead has confirmed that a patch enabling online co-op in Fable II will go live tomorrow, 21st October. And it will be free. That’s according to the Lionhead community blog, which has provided running updates on the multiplayer feature that once looked likely to be missing at launch.

Fable II will be released this Friday, and it’s great to know that the whole game will be there from the start. So who’s up for some co-op?

The problem with the co-op is that you only play the henchmen in the host’s game. You cannot play your own character and only transfer your stats and money. So no story progression for yourself.

Yeah I’m not too fussed by that, if you can have the “intimate relationships” and the other such things we’ve been promised, I really not that keen to stand around and watch my co-op partner service his wife or stuff like that, so actually just as a looting option I think the co-op choice lionhead made is way better, things could get very complkicated otherwise.
