According to a quick screen grab by VG247 Facebook and Twitter will be arriving on the 17th of November 2009 in the UK.

It may take some sort of super power eyesight to spot it but that tiny writing on the bottom of the 2 panels above says

‘Coming Soon, Service Launches 17th November 2009′

However this has since been updated on the official Xbox site which now reads

‘Coming Soon, Service Launches August 2009′

We are still expecting a public beta sometime in mid October which is in the next few days and I guess that is when we will finally see if this Facebook implementation is pure gold, like Achievements, or destined to fail ala PS Home.

I think I’ll pass on this social network update. The last thing I want to do is advertise to my facebook friends with insipid auto-facebook updates like ” has just unlocked “. Do I really want people to realise that instead of working, I’ve actually been playing video games all day? Imagine, calling in sick, and the HR manager checks your facebook tab, only to see has just unlocked whatever nab achievement, or that I’ve been consistently up since 3 this morning, trying to finish the latest game?

In any case, I cancelled xbox live a while back, so I’m finally free… FREE!!!

I don’t really care about the two networks. I am just interested how they will be implemented.

The website has been changed and the date of 17 November has been taken off.

    But who really cares?
