So over the weekend I was alerted to this video that has totally not been made for fun and is definite proof that the 1993 Michael Douglas film, Falling Down, was turned into an SNES game. What? It totally was! See for yourself.
The mock-review, if you want to call it that, is the work of Peter Curran, the Director over on Firefly Productions in the UK. They make all sorts of films, but I have a hunch videogames are somewhat of an influence – they’ve also made a trailer for a live action film of Minecraft. Falling Down is really awesome work and in the words of Curran himself “took bloody ages, sprites = hard workâ€. To make it even more awesome, towards the end there’s a preview for an episode of The Wire depicted as a Tim Schafer adventure game.
What do you think? More importantly what other beloved but obscure ‘90s films can you think of that deserve this sort of homage? Maybe Peter Curran will be listening; I hear this Internet thing is full of spies.
