Fantasy Flight Games, the creators behind many board game adventures set in universes like Star Wars, A Game of Thrones, Runebound and Lord of the Rings, will be adding a new universe to their collection with Fallout: The Board Game. Welcome to the Wasteland, survivor!

Fallout: The Board Game is a one-to-four player Wasteland tutorial in tabletop form. As a group, or on your own if you’re brave, you’ll move around the wasteland, exploring areas from the original games. You have four scenarios to choose from: The Commonwealth, The Capital Wasteland, The Pitt, or Far Harbor. Each scenario tells a complicated story of factions versus faction, offering two distinctive ideologies you can side with.

You can choose to play as one of five characters: the Vault Dweller, The Wastelander, the Super Mutant, the Ghoul, or the Brotherhood Outcast. Each character comes with their own advantages, items and skills. The classic S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system also makes an appearance in the form of tokens that are randomly drawn. These tokens are placed along the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. track on your survivor board, and you’ll gain more as you level up.

Fights will play out with VATS dice that show targeted areas and hits, and you’ll gain XP and loot from the enemies you beat. While you’re busy fighting for your life, you’ll also have encounters and quests to keep you extra busy. Gaining influence points will also get you the loyalty of the different factions you encounter.

If that sounds rad (ha! I crack me up) then convert your caps to $59.95 and hit up Fantasy Flight Games for a pre-order.

Fallout is a post-nuclear adventure board game for one to four players. Based on the hit video game series by Bethesda Softworks, each Fallout scenario is inspired by a familiar story from the franchise. Survivors begin the game on the edge of an unexplored landscape, uncertain of what awaits them in this unfamiliar world. With just one objective to guide them from the very beginning, each player must explore the hidden map, fight ferocious enemies, and build the skills of their survivor as they attempt to complete challenging quests and balance feuding factions within the game.

As they advance their survivors’ stories, players will come across new quests and individual targets, leading them to gain influence. Who comes out ahead will depend on how keenly and aggressively each player ventures through the game, however if a single faction is pushed to power too quickly, the wasteland will be taken for their own, and the survivors conquered along with it.

    Looks better than Fallout 4.
