FFD: E3- Are you excited? What do you expect to see?

Next week, E3 kicks off with a great big bang. For core gamers, E3 is like our Christmas. It’s a time where we get to have a glimpse of the future, and look at the games we’ll be playing in a year or two. Unless they end up being perpetually delayed, like The Agent or The Last Guardian. Or Watch Dogs, or…you get the idea.

Still, E3 is a big deal, and we’ve got giant press conferences from Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft and Sony – plus an online E3 specific Nintendo direct to look forward to. I’m not going this year, and for a while I was perfectly happy with that. I’ve been a couple of times, and it’s far more actual work than any of you imagine, but it is still a whole lot of fun.

Now that the hype is kicking in, I’m suffering from a severe case of FOMO – which means a couple of things. Mostly, it means that despite being a grump old sod, I still love video games. And man, I am getting excited for E3.

Are you? Has the E3 bug bitten you? Are you getting ready for a very, very, very late night on Monday, so you can catch the conferences? Are you hoping to see anything in particular?

Tell us!

Not actually looking forward to E3 – I just want confirmation of games I’m looking forward to like shadow of mordor and arkham knight are still on track.

The only thing I want is more beautiful and brilliant next-gen exclusive AAA titles (for ps4) and more restrictive cross-platform AAA games (I mean cross-platform but not for 360, ps3).

And finally what I want above all else: The Last Guardian for PS4. Not hoping – just wanting. I’ve learnt that The Last Guardian is basically the equivalent of a favourable and likeable character in Game of Thrones.

I don’t think Sony has booked out cinema’s across NA just for the Last Guardian or some Indie titles. I’m intrigued as to why they’ve gone so late with the conference itself. Maybe some huge JRPG’s on the way?

E3 needs to let the public get some more hands on instead of these boring corporate conference calls designed for their stock holders. Or crazy publicity stunts like the ACTIVISION circus.

GAMES GAMES GAMES. playable games, NOT more pre rendered cut scenes and Bullshots.

PAX is more enjoyable to follow.

There are quite a few games I’m looking forward to that should arrive in the next 12 months or so… So I’m really looking forward to hearing (and hopefully seeing) more about them during the course of E3. Plus it’d be shweet (although unlikely thanks to all the leaks that seem to be springing up) to hear about a new game coming that we haven’t heard of before…

Overall, I’m pretty psyched for this E3! More so, strangely, than in previous years. I will definitely try to catch as many of the conferences as I can.

I just want good games released that I want to play. I can read reviews when the time comes. But getting excited now about, say, DA Inquisition or Witcher 3 is, in my opinion just not worth it. Keep a balanced view when the game comes out. Hype, hype

MOO3 cured me of all that. I followed the games dev for TWO YEARS. Bought it, played it. Was betrayed by it in the end.

Yip could end up being disappointing, but most times there has always been something which generates a little hype.
