The Battlefield 3 beta was finally opened to the filthy masses yesterday which means I finally got my hands on what is one of the most anticipated titles of the year.

All I’ve heard all year is how Modern Warfare 3 is just MW2 in a prettier dress while Battlefield 3 is the new king of FPS’s and should be rewarded for all it’s innovation.

Now maybe I’m missing something but my experience playing the Metro level last night felt like Battlefield Bad Company 2, except it was dumbed down with no vehicles and the weapons were more powerful which meant less running and gunning.

All in all I’m pretty disappointed with what I experienced in the beta so I want to hear what you have experienced.

Do you still think Battlefield 3 is the better game or do you think the EA hype machine has just managed to do a fantastic job at raising our expectations?
