for some reason, gamers from different walks just can’t seem to get along – and there are always arguments and debates about something that should really be about fun.
You’ve got the perpetual console debate; Who’s got the better graphics, blah blah blah. right now it’s Xbox 360 vs PS3, but soon it’ll be all about whether the Ps4 has more teraflops than the Xbox One. Is Xbox Live better than PSN. Gah. It gets worse – there’s the evergreen one about consoles vs the PC, with the Glorious Master PC Race going on about their sharper graphics, cheaper games and precision mouses, while console chaps talk about…whatever it is they think makes their platforms better.
There’s more; there’s the question of whether or not games or art; whether games are becoming too easy; whether corporate greed is ruining videogames; will smartphones and tablets kill consoles; is free to play the future – and of course, that damned sexism in videogames that keeps detracting form whether or not games are fun to play, instead of being inclusive.
Aww crap. We’ve gone all meta-today. A debate about debates? What sort of horsesh*t is this? Tell us though – which gaming debates are you sick to death of hearing?

I don’t think so. I am tired of people saying something is awesome based on nothing other than what they HOPE will happen. Yesterday I was asking very straight forward questions and getting crap back because I was a SONY Fanboy. Asking a questions like ‘okay, why do you love the kinect 2’ and getting a reply like ‘because it’s going to make games better’ based on NO evidence from any developer; only haphazard guesses based on the ability of the actual tech, is not going to make me think you are an objective person. There is one thing having faith in a console, which I think is stupid, and actually having facts about a system and what it can do. This, coupled with the industry-understood cluster fuck of a PR nightmare that anyone with more than 2 brain cells to rub together can see from an objective point of view, is why I get irritated with those who begin their comments with ‘XBOX WON’. I’m also basing it on comments from the regular community. Remember, I’ve been around here longer than almost everyone. I jumped in when Lazygamer first started out of the Gears of War game lobbies. I might not have always commented, but I’ve always been here. And the regular guys are also often very guilty at being trolls themselves. I tend to read about 90% of the comments as I come on every night and catch up.

Take me and Erwin for example. When there is an nVidia VS AMD debate we usually sound like sick demented trolls to the outside world but we are just having a good old go at each other because we know eachother.
One needs to be very careful when labeling anyone. I could be labled a troll for a lot of my comments but those comments aren’t actually me trolling. It’s me joking around with people I have learnt to know over the time I have been here. Small but very significant difference.

Seriously though, every one has their own opinion about every thing and prefer some things above others. Just imagine how boring it would be if everyone in the world like the same things and had the same opinion. We would en up like the movie Equilibrium where everybody would walk with a stick up their arse and just blindly follow every one else.
I actually don’t mind debates, but only if something positive comes from it. In the end people won’t stop mass debating, some people just find pleasure in it…

Seriously, never seen must “debating” on these here forums. It’s more a “check this Meme” and “please up-vote me” troll fest going on here! Not saying I haven’t had the occasional “WOW, this guy talks sense” moment or that I myself haven’t posted a Meme or even trolled OVG on occasion. I know trolling the readers with articles leads to hits and those leads to advertising money(especially if RinseandLeSIGH checks in every 5 minutes to see if he got up-voted)????. Just saying that can also be achieved by brilliant articles like the “Is the PS4 worth picking up day one” article. That was brilliant and unique, I haven’t seen anything like that anywhere else! Let’s get more of those up! And as a huge Xbone fan, can I also request an article about why when EVERY aspect is compared the Xbone is the obvious and ONLY REAL next gen choice?(Come on, I see the PS3.5 advertising is off so I’m sure you can do it now…..)????

I’m tired of the PS Vs Xbox…Everyone is going to have a platform they prefer to play games on. Myself I have some games I’ll only play on PC…like Skyrim for example and others I’ll get for my Xbox…like Assassins Creed for example. I just don’t understand why we can’t all just enjoy the fact that we all love gaming. It doesn’t matter which form of shape it comes in, it makes you happy, enjoy being happy and not feeling the need to tell other people their opinions are wrong. “no my happy is better than your happy,” that is what is sounds like to me.

I can officially confirm that games are becoming easier. I played Bioshcok Infinite on 1999 mode and hardly struggled. I am now playing Bioshock 1 on normal and to say it bluntly: Ek kak af!

I’m tired of hearing how pc gamers are the master race! I mean they play pc games and console gamers play console games. Consoles are easy put in and play(basically except gotta install them now too) pc games gotta install and activated online and then set graphics/ play with graphics settigns to make for best looking and best performing play. So in that case console wins. its easy put in play looks great plays great no issues! but they are the master race……. Look pc gamers have skill but when I first played fps on consoles it took alot of practice on a controller which many pc gamers would say is a pain in the ass and I am better on pc. I for one am better on console now than pc. I
Another thing how pc gamers say pc can do so much more yes it can but it can give that much more crap too and that is no lie. So once and for all I wish pc gamers would just realise that its games and we are gamers not fan bois but guys and gals that love to play games. and thats all that matters….

Also over the PC vs console debate. Obviously PC is better, but I prefer console. People tend to buy stuff according to their needs and wants, what suits them. In the end, as long as gaming wins, we should all be happy.

The most I hear is, PC vs Console, BF vs CoD, and [insert MMO here] vs WoW.
I go with PC as it’s superior, BF as it’s superior and too awesome, and many MMO’s against WoW, simply coz WoW is dated and it’s just a grind that bores me to death. But hey, that’s just me. I can do into more detail on what I choose, but don’t want to start a debate as I’m tired of hearing why ppl would disagree with me. To each their own. Everyone has their reasons and nobody can say they suck.

Actually, I think I just subconsciously listed my order of preference there…..
Then the old staples of PC vs Console, Win vs Linux, Xbox vs PS, CoD vs MoH vs BF. Just play whatever the hell you want, on whatever platform supports it, and *enjoy* yourself. Other peoples opinions are largely irrelevant at that point.
