FIFA 13 has Move support (and it looks awful)

FIFA13

I’ve moaned many a time about motion-controls being shoe-horned in to places where it just doesn’t damned well belong – and nowhere is this more apparent than Playstation Move support being added to EA’s FIFA.

Yes, it’s unfortunately a real thing – and no, it doesn’t involve stuffing the Move wand into your sock, though that would at least make sense. No, in FIFA 13 on the PlayStation 3, you can choose, should you be completely braindead, to forgo the accuracy of a standard twin-sticked controller and instead use the Move wand.

EA Canada’s David Rutter took to the stage during Sony’s Gamescom 2012 presentation to demonstrate how the motion controller will be used in the game; and to control players you’ll essentially be painting lines on the screen  – which act as waypoints, telling your player where to go.  In addition to that, you’ll be able to twist the controller to add spin to kicks. Yeah, it really looks as awful as it sounds – and it sounds terrible, because it is.

FIFA 13 will also have Kinect support – but at least it’s being added in a way that makes a modicum of sense.
