Very, very many of you are excited for the new modes coming to FIFA 14. That’s natural, the tournament kicks off in just two weeks. FIFA 14’s Ultimate Team mode was supposed to be getting a new update today to allow you to play out your own World Cup fantasies. Likewise, the new-gen versions of the game were supposed to get a Kick-Off mode, bringing the 32 competing teams and their livery in to the game. Unfortunately for your football fans, the world cup updates have been delayed.
EA currently as no idea when they’ll be offering the free content updates which were expected today.
Here’s what EA posted on its FIFA forums yesterday.
To ensure the best possible experience, we have decided to delay the launch of FIFA 14 Ultimate Team: World Cup (PC/PS3/PS4/360/XB1) and the World Cup Kick-Off mode (XB1/PS4).
Knowing that our players have been so excited for these new modes made it a tough decision. However, as we progressed through final testing we encountered unforeseen issues that would affect all users who downloaded the update, so it’s important to address them first before release.
Our team is currently working hard to have the update ready to release in the coming days.
On Thursday evening (EU time) we will keep you updated on our progress.

That’s unfortunate stuff. If you really want to relive the World Cup, there’s that ruddy Brazil 2014 game for those old systems – even if it is a broken mess.

2 days I imagine, I doubt they will have missed anything major unless this is just bs and it was never going to be ready for the date they said. Its EA so thats probably true..

Yes; it’s Ultimate Team mode, and a kick off mod for Ps4/Xb1 that adds the 32 teams available for friendlies. It does not add a full tournament.

Yeah and then it can even morph into something we used to call “Fifa shots.” Everytime someone scores the opposing team needs to take a shot! Later it becomes ridiculous and you take a shot for free kicks and offside!

what errors are you guys getting? cause i downloaded the 407MB update and have the world cup kick off mode working.. the ultimate team mode for WC keeps kicking me out and the worst part is that my online seasons mode seems to be bugged cause i keep on searching for hours and i can’t get matched up with an opponent even though there are 8000+ players online

Absolutely brilliant fifa another fuck up in the fuck department i don’t want this update because everything about this game is shit important pretty sure this game was never completed by ea ignite the scripting is ridiculous its the first game i have ever played that iv not had full control iv recorded clips where the most stupid things happen u press left to pass it goes right or goes straight to the opponent you have to tackle at least 3 times to win the ball back im not buying the next fifa because off this!!!
