FIFA 15’s incredible, living players

It's in the game

While we’re still in the throes of World Cup fever, it’s the perfect time for showing off a little bit of the next generation of the world’s best selling sports videogame, FIFA. Its 2015 iteration will focus rather heavily on making the whole affair more realistic – starting with the players themselves.

“We want our fans to feel the highs and lows of the drama that is football, and experience the emotional roller coaster that plays out during a match,” FIFA executive producer David Rutter said when the game was revealed.

Here’s a brand new trailer showcasing just that; how EA’s working to make FIFA 15’s players look, feel and react more like living, breathing people. It’s not just the people getting a makeover; the pitch will now weather over the course of a match, simulating real life just that little bit more. Goal posts will also rattle off of shots, and lift when a particularly powerful shot finds the back of the net.

The new game will also feature dynamic ball physics, where its movement will be based off of where players feet touch its surface. It’s all sounding rather impressive, though to somebody like me it will likely end up looking just like the last game, and the one before that.

I also promised the boss that seeing as it’s his birthday, I won’t include any jokes about Suarez and his  maxillomandibular proclivities.

Are you sure 1 month is going to be enough?
Recent EA game trends imply 1 year might still not be enough.

I did not really experience dynamic ball physics when I ran until I switched from briefs to boxers a few years back. 🙂

The only thing that would make that header better would be a shark about to chomp her. Opportunity missed.

I’ve never missed FIFA since 98 on PC (256 colors). It has become my religion and regardless of what little tweaks they add to the game, it is grown to be the best football simulator for me. But you have to love the sport to understand.

I love Fifa, and have owned all of them since 96,98 somewhere there. But 14 pissed me off, online was a shambles with that lob over your back 4!! And balls seemed to go through players and no one could defend a header from a corner!! I will give 15 a month to be sorted out, then I will pick it up!!

Online experience can be a horrible experience I admit, which can honestly change your perception about the game entirely. So far, I’ve managed to stay offline and organize FIFA weekends with friends and colleagues.

FIFA should rule that after the World Cup is finished, every footballer gets fined 2 minutes per dive spent in a cage with an MMA fighter. If they wanna cry, lets give them a valid reason for crying.

I don’t think he has it and if he does he’s an idiot to waste a crap load of money on a game that has a grapple system WORSE than the snake one.

It’s not worth buying a console for, man. If you have Undisputed 3, you already have a better UFC game..even with the stupid kak cat and mouse submission system.

Yes I finished it last week. If you love UFC then its an automatic purchase. But be warned it will be harder trying to unlearn everything you gotten used to with THQa version than going in fresh. The learning curve is very steep and not many gamers want to bother with the very good tutorial system. They just want to jump in and play.

Its not a jump in and play kind of game. IT IS FIGHT NIGHT. It reeks of Fight Night. Not saying that Fight Night is bad but it is as streamlined as the Fight Nights that I played on the PS2. Pick your fighter walk to the ring and FIGHT. Thats how shallow it is. Its about the FIGHT. Everything is streamlined down to its bare bones.

After mastering the transitioning, clinching and grappling after about 10hours it starts becoming rewarding. Up the level to pro and unlock IM HARD MOTHER **** BRUCE LEE. You can choose him to enter career mode.

Career mode is fun. You start on bare bones and its up to you to choose how to advance into the next 40 matches. You should get the title around 20 matches. You cant for some unknown reason import your CAF into quick play. You can edit your CAF outside of career and just MAX out all the points. I think they were worried about spammers on-line. This is when on-line fucks up our single player experiences.

Overall the FMVs from the UFC fighters and montages are rather fun and cute. We have become so spoilt over the years that we forget that none of the previous UFC games had this amount of videos combined.

The grappling system WORKS. It is FUN as fuck. It will take awhile to get used to it but you will realise that its a video game after all and the MINI GAME is about good HAND eye co ordination.

Trying to KP somebody is not like THQs. You can kick a leg for 25 minutes and it will do nothing. You have to learn how to focus on a certain area and do a dodge counter to lay down X4 damage. Then when he is rocked you have 10 seconds to jump in and GROUND AND POUND.

You will not get those loud sound effects when hammer fisting into a KO. Its said earlier its REAL.

Ignore the STAMINA BAR. Turn the HUD off. And look at the animations of the characters to learn when you are gassing or not. ITS REAL.

The first thing one must do the moment you get money is buy the posture position from when you give your back or you will not get out of the full mount. Buy transitions first like posturing into the Tower guard then buy moves and place or of your points into your right arm and from the Tower Guard Hammer fist away then when he gets up try and to a cage head kick. SWEEEEEEEET FEEELING when you pull off your game plane.

I only just figured out how to elbow lol. The button allocation feels crazy at first but after mastering it I think they are all positioned perfectly.

Thats about it. A very Shallow presentation with a deep fighting system once you learn how to play it.
7 out of 10 is good.

        FIGHT NIGHT with grappling.

Thanks for the in-depth opinion. The un-learning part sounds like a drag but if you say it’s rewarding then I’ll def be giving this a bash at some point.
I might just wait for another big PS4 exclusive to hit before I go shopping, I hate having a new console with a limited library.

The Last of Us at the end of the Month.

Wolfenstein is SO GOOD, I never knew I would care this much for videogame characters outside of MGS. A very DEEP game with the fun WHACKY 90s feel. AND DONT SAY DUKE NUKEM. Nothing like Duke Nukem, the game is mature.

RAYMAN, Sweet Jesus my eyeballs not to mention the fact that I now long for that good old Nintendo fun. 10/10

Infamous, Playstation 4 tech demo if anything else. More eye candy.

The Walking Dead Game Of the Year Edition
            AUTO PURCHASE.

Then the real fun begins towards the end of the year and then 2015…

I’m an old school ex-competitive FPS player so I only do those on PC when given a choice. That puts Wolfie on there for me.
I’m not prepared to pay for The Last of Us again as I have it on PS3 and it was expensive enough the first time around.
The Walking Dead I haven’t got into yet. The show just got too annoying for me tbh.
Infamous does interest me but since I finished the first two I am less inclined to play another.
My son plays Rayman but I haven’t tried it yet, horrible backlog on Steam I’m working through atm and I just bought another 40 odd titles between Steam and GOG.

I have no doubt I will be getting a PS4 before the end of the year but nothing is compelling me yet.

I agree, 2015 is where its at. But make sure you jump into Wolfie ASAP. As much as I hate FPS games thanks to the smelly FPS market created by EA and Activision, This game restored my faith. It also kind of reeks of Fallout 3, a good thing 🙂
