Bjorn Diedricks

Over the last weekend over 450 hopefuls crammed into Sandton City in an attempt to become the South African representative for the upcoming FIFA Interactive World Player 2008 tournament to be held in Berlin, Germany on the 24th of May 2008.

The winner of that tournament is going to fly home with a whopping $20 000 in prize money and a South African will be there to do our country proud.

Bjorn Diedricks (above) from Glenvista battled through against some very strong competition to win his spot in Germany.

Bjorn and a partner will now be flown over to Germany with all expenses paid to compete against the top 32 players in the world for the honour of being FIFA Interactive World Player of the Year 2008.

We would like to wish Bjorn all the best and hopefully we will get to see him bringing the gold back home.

A big thanks goes out to EA South Africa, FIFA and PlayStation for organising the local competition. Glad to see us on the world map for once.
