So another of the constant industry rumours is back, it is being reported that the negotiations to bring Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy to the 360 are in an advanced state.
The only thing standing in the way now is that Microsoft doesn’t want its money being used to fund the PS3’s development.
Now I feel when a rumour like this just doesn’t die down it is normally true. Think about the constant rumours behind the 360 Elite, the rumbling SIXAXIS and the dropping of the 20GB PS3….
If this happens Sony only have themselves to blame, they refuse to pay for exclusives and Microsoft does not have that problem, if you were a developer who would you go with?
I have never seen the EMagLive site before but they do seem very professional and have a lot of information backing up this rumour.

It was not a forum post they are just using forum software as their Content Management System. I hope they actually leave the SIXAXIS controller in his hand, the irony is awesome.

I remember hearing on the 1up podcase a while ago that Konami and Sony struck a deal and that it is 100% exclusive. I don’t know who to believe now…..

Hmm, I’ve always suspected that the deals struck on these two fronts are not going to be what people expect. For example – perhaps “infinite undiscovery” is Square compromise deal with Microsoft, or perhaps the 360 isn’t going to get MGS4, but it will get MGS Online, or vice versa.
Just a thought.

To be honest, I couldn’t give a damn about MGS4. I hated the 1st game, the 2nd one I missed and the 3rd one, well just seemed pathetic. Now Final Fantasy that is a different story, if that ever does come to the 360 I’ll be first inline for it!

doobi’s on to something. MGS Online over XBL seems plausible, unlikely, but plausible. Oh, and Infinite Undiscovery isn’t actually made by Square – it’s made by Triace and Square is just publishing it so people shouldn’t expect anything of the Square-Like quality we’re used to.
