These days you can’t take a single step outside without being hit face-first with a Warhammer 40K game, in yo face. And really, I have no problem with that.

The Warhammer 40K universe is a fantastic one, filled with battles that have death-tolls in the millions and enemies that come from a plane of existence that was once visited by the crew of the Event Horizon.

Yes, it’s a horrible universe where a gruesome and excruciating death is but one Ork WAAAARGGHHH-horde away. But it’s worth it, because that universe is home to the most bitching space-ships to ever grace the Milky Way.

I’m talking mobile cathedrals, outfitted with enough guns to double as the kind of church that you’d find in the deepest and most southern parts of the US of A. Churches in space, ready to deliver the good word in the form of a plasma cannon discharge.

And that’s the kind of game that Battlefleet Gothic: Armada wants to be. Announced back in January, there’s been close to buggerall info on the game released for the public, with impressions of it having to come from sources such as a shaved Capuchin monkey that was sent to E3 this year.

Fortunately, Tindalos Interactive have released a gameplay trailer. Here, enjoy several minutes of space battles rendered on the Unreal 4 engine:

It’s still looking like a deep game, judging by the deep dive I had with it at E3. While seeing the Sistine Chapel in space is weird, it’s my kind of weird. I’m liking the Imperium and Chaos space-fleets, the ships look beautifully detailed before being blow to pieces and they all have bitchin’ cool names.

2016 is going to be fun, if you’re into both Warhammer 40K and strategy. DEATH TO THE CORPSE EMPEROR!

I REALLY like the look of this. Lots of small details I love, and nothing that’s raising alarm bells. Great to be excited for a 40k related game again 😀
