Find a new nemesis in Shadow of Mordor DLC

SoM Talion and Celebrimbor

Shadow of Mordor won our most coveted award in 2014 – Game of the Year. It won this because it was a ridiculous amount of fun with a highly innovative Nemesis system. Now Warner Bros has released a cool infographic about just how many Uruks we’ve all killed, just in time to go kill some more in the new DLC, The Bright Lord.

First up, here is the infographic:

Shadow of mordor player stats

With 200 million Uruks dominated and 95.6 million unique nemeses created, that’s a lot of individual storytelling experiences. Especially when you add in the 23.1 million warchiefs who were wiped out with only 2.3 million betrayed by their own bodyguards. You guys must be pretty professional if you’re all taking out warchiefs without even bothering with their henchmen. Well done!

Of course, once you’ve branded all the captains/warchiefs, grabbed all the collectibles and finished the game, you might a bit underwhelmed – the game is short and if you enjoyed it, you’ll wonder what to do next. Of course, there’s DLC to fill your time, and the latest is a story DLC that puts you solely in the shoes of Celebrimbor. Here is the DLC launch trailer:

I’ve started playing it and will give you a review ASAP. If nothing else, I’m enjoying the opportunity to run around Mordor again, branding and killing captains and amassing an army of dominated Uruks. I’m not quite at the 200 million mark, but maybe one day I’ll be close.

Are you still waiting for a reason to play this game (again) or is this game your own nemesis?

One day, one day I shall defeat THAT uruk and avenge my many many deaths at his hands.
Immune to stealth, combos, finishers, poison, etc… everything except ranged and it takes 3 times the number of arrows that I can carry just to get him to half health.
And that was before he became a warchief and became even stronger.

Was a great game and I enjoyed it but moved on to other games for the moment. I might return and download all the DLC with it

I have 22 games on my wishlist vying for my money. I think the base game has a lot of replayability anyway, as most of the fun comes when you stop the main story and just have fun with the Uruks, the rankings, the bodyguards etc. That DLC is a long, long way off for me.

Shadow of Mordor is the only SP game I played last year and it really was an awesome game. I pretty much did everything I could possibly do trying to get all the achievements. I wouldn’t mind getting all the DLC and jumping into it again but at a later stage. Got other games waiting for me.

Tried but got frustrated after some of my dominated Uruks got killed trying to defend me or I killed one I was trying to dominate by accident.

At first I was like, Jennifer Hale AKA Reaper slayer is Galadriel? WIN 🙂

But I am with Geoff, this games narrative was as shallow as Destiny. Now thanks to all this DLC we now see why.

As soon as DA:I is done, I play this. Also, should I jut get all DLC and play through first time with all DLC?

Trouble is Assasins Creed Black flag is half price on Xbox One this week, already bought and downloaded. Hmm…. Which one first?

I thought this game was very mediocre gameplay was fun without a doubt and nemesis system is a cool innovation it needs some work but it’s good, however the story my word is a disgrace to be part of Tolkien lore or Lord of the Rings in general!!

The gameplay and Nemesis system were certainly the main draws for me. The story wasn’t that bad. But it’s not entirely great either. But once you’ve done your thing and you’re the dude in charge, I started losing interest in the main quests altogether.

Yeah exactly once I took over all the war-chief I lost interest my main issue with everything is not much the story as the boss fights like there were kind of dull and boring and presented no challenge! I did not care at all about main baddies and so on…
