FNaF World relaunch

Just yesterday, Scott Cawthon apologised for the poor state of his latest title, Five Nights at Freddy’s world. Now, he’s announced that he will be pulling it off Steam entirely (via PC Gamer).

Even though the game had a “Very Positive” rating with 87%, I was not satisfied with the reviews and ratings it was getting. For that reason, I’ve decided to remove the game from Steam. I’ve also asked Valve to make it so that the game can be refunded regardless of the amount of the time it has been owned, meaning that anyone can get a refund at any time. It may take them a while to set that up, but it will be in place soon.

That’s one heck of a move. I mean, even with all its hiccups, Five Nights at Freddy’s World was still received positively by many. Scott wants everybody to love the game however, and has thus taken it off of Steam entirely so that he can fix it.

I’m still going to work on FNaF World and polish it up. I’m busy creating a fully 3D overworld for the game. When I’m ready to update the game, I will replace the demo currently on GameJolt with the full game.

Oh, and he also added this…

From this point forward, the game will always be free.

Wow, that is really commendable. Seriously, Scott could’ve left the game in its current state and sorted out all its hiccups with ongoing patches (keeping the money as a result). Instead, he’s acknowledged that he released Five Nights at Freddy’s World prematurely, he’s pulled it off of Steam to fix it, and now he will be giving it to everybody for free in future.

That is honestly really good of him. I however, am still salty about those scares he gave me in Five Nights at Freddy’s 4. WHY SCOTT? WHY?

I am not sure he is being completely honest with us. Maybe they found a game-killing bug towards the end of the game…
