PS3 vs Xbox 360… Xbox 360 vs PS3, we have heard all of the angles. Which one is more powerful, which one has the better disc this and online that.
Today that means absolutely bugger-all as we hit it out with an all out beauty contest. The PS3 slim is a smaller version of the Playstation 3 fat, but is it better looking when it’s sitting on the shelf? If we want to jump back to the sportscar metaphor, I see the Playstation 3 as an Aston Martin DB9, and the slim as the smaller compact V8 Vantage (with matt paint).
As for the new Xbox 360, I think of it like a Pagani Zonda. It has ludicrous lines and vents and now sports the very same black gloss that the Playstation 3 had, making it look kind of insane. The thing about the Pagani Zonda, is that some people think it’s the best looking Supercar in the whole world, while other people think that it just looks ridiculous and over the top and the same can be said about the mixed reactions that have arisen over the new Xbox 360’s design.
So the question is, which one do you think looks better?

Bobby Kotick thinks PS3 is sexy

My vote is for the PS3. It looks sexier, I was never a fan of Alienware PCs  and the weird angular front of the xbox 360s is just a turnoff. I don’t like angles in weird places.

Not really a contest here. Xbox 360 much prettier :). Btw I am the owner of a PS3.

I have to say the actual Xbox 360 S looks far better than it’s pictures… it kinda reminds me of me in that way

You know when first images were leaked of the new xbox design on this site i was like the only guy that said it looked awesome, glad more have realized this. At the end of the day beauty lies in the eye of the gamer and so my vote goes to xbox….”wooooo shiny” :w00t:

It’s too shiny, looks like an alienware PC and it’s an xbox 360…groan… I still hate it. You guys are just playahatas! :ermm:

The Xbox looks a Dell PC….
PS3 slim all they way!

I wish I had a Dell, got one at work not home! 360 slim all the way and just wish it was available!

They should have added a slot drive dvd to the
xbox slim.

Agreed. PS3 without a doubt. The shiny look is so 2007. Besides, its still a 360 and 360’s reek of crapness.

I know eltonriley, but we’re actually wasting our breath. I just wish that I was an exec at Microsoft with shares in the company because you can always count on the sheep.
Just make it shiny! They’ll buy it.

To be honest, ewie, I don’t like either the slot drive or the disk tray. There are too many moving parts that are easy to wear and break down (since the components are mostly plastic), and it’s a real pain to remove a disk that’s stuck in a broken slot disk tray or even trying to wedge out a disk from a broken disk tray.
I really wish they’d go back to basics and use the “clip-in” disk drives (like the dreamcast, gamecube or the PSone). It’s safer for the disk, especially if you have little kids and pets, any shock to the console won’t result in you having “a moment” and worrying about scratched disks.

@Uberutang – So true mate so true. All of this reminds me of a recent futurama episode (a spoof on the Apple Iphone), but hey… it’s their money.

360 S Looks nicer, but i like the shiny finish because it matches my TV.
I think the PS3 Phat looks nicer than both the new slim versions though.

That’s what I hated about the PS3 phat (ignoring the insane price when it launched). It was far too shiny, and worse when you touched it, your fingerprints remained. It also looked like one of those George Foreman grills, and to an extent the slim also resembles a kitchen appliance, but the matte finish is more “manly”. 😉

i would have to say the 360 looks better. Because of its sexy shinyness (is that even a word?) 360 gets my vote

I do agree with Gavin in that the new Xbox 360s do look prettier in front of you when compared to photos, I think it’s a nice improvement over the usual Xbox 360, which while not bad, was a little boring.

I always wondered why the PS3 Slim is always pictured laying flat down on it’s belly on the box and even in adverts. It doesn’t give one the impression that it’s slim. It just looks like a hi-tech snackwich maker.
And I think it’s clever marketing from the start from MS to always have the 360 pictured upright(giving it a slim appearance) with hypnotic circles surrounding it :alien:
PS: XBox 360 S looks likes a Transformer :w00t:

PS3. It looks better up close and when you own one. The xbox is using the glossy finish which ps3 used 4 years ago. The reason the slim isn’t in a glossy finish? Because it was cool 4 years ago,now its out of date,

LOL They should make a reality TV show about fanboys dissing each other’s consoles. It would be the most entertan-iest show in history!
PS: I like the new Xbox 360 S: looks more attractive

Agree – had a few games stuck in the drives already.
Problem with xbox tray and small kids is, the tray is too tempting to close without the button.

PS3 design is timeless. The Xbox-s is a very trendy look, but will soon look very dated. It just needs some GT stripes and a couple of fluffy die hanging from the DVD tray and it will be complete. 😉

I liked the old ps3 and refuse to buy a slim ps3, but i do love the new xbox s design, looks great, the shininess sis excellent and ps3 shouldn’t have got rid of it, also ps3 pissed me off when it took out the ps2 backwards compatibility in it, that was a major blow as i still do enjoy quite a few of my old ps2 games…
