Earlier this week Epic Games, People Can Fly and Electronic Arts released a “game” called Duty Calls. It was a marketing stunt to promote the upcoming and over-the-top FPS game Bulletstorm, which promises to put the fun back into the shooter genre.

The Duty Calls parody (which Nick posted about here) completely rips the COD franchise a new one and in doing so the people behind Bulletstorm aimed to highlight how much better their new game will be. You could have shrugged it off as some harmless fun, or the affront to COD’s FPS dominance could have enraged you beyond belief.

So tell us! Do the Bulletstorm people deserve to have the marketing stunt backfire? Or does the parody serve a purpose beyond merely promoting a game made by the competition?
