I’ve got to be honest here: I’m a bit of a Forza fan. I may be completely rubbish at any driving game, but I like being particularly terricrappable in that specific franchise. Forza Motorsport has now become a bi-annual franchise, with the fifth iteration launching with the Xbox One, and it was OK! It could have been better however, as the game certainly felt a touch lighter than previous instalments from the series. And that’s most likely where Forza Motorsport 6 is going to come into play… with revolutionary new puddle technology.
That tidbit of info, courtesy of a Japanese website for Forza Motorsport 6 that went live a little earlier than expected. AGB captured the gaff with a screenshot that detailed new features in the game such as:
What we’ve been racing towards
Unrelenting action at simulation speed. Race over 450 cars in the most beautiful and comprehensive racing game of tihs generation.
As real as it gets
Breathtaking graphics at 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second. Wet weather, 3D puddles, and night racing test your driving skills. Cutting-edge ForzaTech engine powers the unrelenting action and stat-of-the-art-physics at simulation speed.
Ultimate car fantasy
The most cars of any racing game this generation. More than 450 cars all immaculately recreated and customizable, and complete with working cockpits and full damage. Tour 26 world-famous locales including Daytona, Rio, and more..
Never race alone
Home of the greatest racing, tuning and painting community in gaming. 2-player split-screen racing, 24-player races, and realistic Drivatar opponents deliver packed tracks and unrivaled action.
The only negative here, is that the game still uses the “drivatar” name for AI that learns what you’re up to and emulates you. So if you run into my, urgh, Drivatar, you can grab some easy points as my car races in the completely wrong direction and ends up wedged inside a cow. Expect more Forza 6 Motorsport at E3. Or a story about how the security tackled me after they caught me licking the bonnet of a McLaren P1 for the third year running outside the Xbox press event.

Just one of those Borderlands DLCs was better than the 500 million dollar Destiny. The Badass crater of badassitude was for winners.

The REAL DLCs were amazing, not so much the thousands of extra skins and whatever else.

The skins were irritating really, I don’t like cosmetic upgrades, it’s useless, rather give me something proper, I refuse to download cosmetic DLC (Even if it’s free)

I always seem to want the skins locked behind the paywall 🙁

Me too…. those unnecessary 30 minute to 2 hour downloads before you can start playing is quite annoying…

Its that cookie jar on top of the fridge syndrome. Just look at how well Nintendo do by their old supply demand tactics with those Amibbos or what ever the hell those little plastic things are called.
Pariah
June 8, 2015 at 11:37
How were they irritating? They weren’t forced on you. If you wanted them, you bought them – and if you didn’t, you ignored them. I just bought the content DLC’s and I still play BL2 to this day. Money well spent.
Greylingad[CNFRMD]
June 8, 2015 at 11:44
I agree, but I hated having to run up to a legendary boss and killed it, to receive a F*&^ing skin…Not a legendary gun, not a legendary shield, no, a skin…
Pariah
June 8, 2015 at 11:58
Lol, it was free though, and you could always just save/quit and do the boss again. Like you’d have to do to get the legendaries you want anyway.
All I can say is: screw the Norfleet.

June 8, 2015 at 12:01
Hehe, I have to say though, BL2 is still (and I’m quite adamant about this) one of the best games ever! Extended story DLCs included…(I only bought the story DLCs after extensively reading reviews, don’t judge me)
Pariah
June 8, 2015 at 12:03
I saw the season pass at 50% off or something, insta-bought it. I did however pre-order BL2. It was the last game I bought at release.

Can’t beat RaceRoom.
The apparent free to play game that has nothing to play on until you pay the price of a full racing game to get one track and two cars.

Looks like Turn 10 new game engine is using DirectX 12, no other closed circuit racer on any console has been able to pull off what Forza 6 is going to do.
Driveclub was stuck at 30fps despite not using having to use real life tracks and using simple custom tracks that suited their game engine, no customization etc.

Is this gonna become a yearly thing now?!? Since launch it seems like all the Xbone can produce in terms of first party exclusives is FORZA! By the end of this gen we’ll be on Forza 10!

Need for Speed lol How do you re-boot a driving game? Then a week after the reveal they say its an on-line only game? Did EA not learn from Sim City?

“Bi-annual” was the incorrect phrase used in the article. It seems they will be rotating a release of the Motorsport and Horizon titles every year, similar to what was proposed by EA for their boxing and MMA titles.

June 8, 2015 at 11:23
they got an actual Le-Mans LMP1 driver to do a lap of the Le-Mans circuit in a virtual representation of his car in-game… He lapped within 0.3 sec
of his actual lap times!!
Greylingad[CNFRMD]
June 8, 2015 at 11:25
Exactly!! It’s AWESOME!!! From a racing sim point of view, you’d struggle to get it closer to an actual track day, except for some of the accidents, but one should always strive to drive without accidents anyway…

A game filled with WINNING! 🙂 Loving it so much. Just signed up for a full season Endurance Racing in the LMP1 class in my career mode… Loving the 30min – 2hr races (although it can sometimes be a bit hard to find that much time to race / game, except on weekends). With no assists, it’s as close to the real thing as it can get.
Greylingad[CNFRMD]
June 8, 2015 at 11:46
Yes!! A fellow Petrol head! I also love the game, but finding time, especially with The Witcher 3, is really hard… but I’ll get into it again after, I’m sure!
Rock789
June 8, 2015 at 11:52
Oh yeah – that is a common problem for me…Between Witcher 3 and Project Cars, it’s tough to sometimes decide. Did a lot of racing this weekend though. Watching World Superbikes and Formula 1 on Saturday made me so keen to do some proper racing, so spent many an hour on Project Cars (even got my gf involved and was letting her race – I trust her skills coz she’s a great driver, and is actually really good at the game, even for a non-gamer and someone who’s not 100% used to the controller).
Now if I can only get a nice new-gen wheel setup!
Greylingad[CNFRMD]
June 8, 2015 at 11:56
Hehehe, that’s awesome! I’ve been playing it on PC, I have an old Logitech MOMO Racing wheel, which still rocks, but as far as the wife goes with the driving…I’m not sure I’d let her do an endurance race with a car that has close to no traction when you put your foot down though…It’ll probably just frustrate her, that or drive her to murder…
Rock789
June 8, 2015 at 12:04
Lol… Yeah, mine too. She prefers to do the cup races inbetween my main races. She’s the first to admit she’s not keen to race for over 30min in 1 race. Plus she says she doesn’t want to interfere with my championship… Spoken like a true drivers gf! 😉 🙂
Man, I’d love to get a nice wheel setup! Need to make a plan for my PS4…
Greylingad[CNFRMD]
June 8, 2015 at 12:10
If you can, only if, go for a proper Logitech setup, seat, wheel (with pedals and 6 speed forward gearbox), but be warned, I’ve had a slight glimpse into what it might cost… Let’s just say that if one day, you see me with a steering wheel like that, you’ll know I’ve donated a kidney….
Rock789
June 8, 2015 at 12:13
Yeah, I can imagine. I would LOVE something like that (I would give it a name and it would be my PRECIOUS!)… But first I’ve potentially gotta sell off my kidney, perhaps a few slices of my liver and definitely 1 of my lungs. Or just my gf! o_O But, 1 day, it shall be mine!!!
