Forza Horizon 2 is about to get Fast and Furious

Furious

Forza Horizon 2 was easily the best racing game of 2014, no matter what Geoff and Matty had to say as they proved that democracy was not for the people when they gave Mario Kart the award last year for best driving title around. Ahem, sour grapes aside, I’m still digging the game. Forza Horizon 2 managed to perfectly encapsulate the joy of having a car that costs more than a house, and the sheer heartache of crashing it and ruining the paint job. It’s also the kind of game that is getting ready to live its life a quarter of a mile of a time.

Forza Horizon 2 is indeed getting a Fast and Furious standalone pack, just in time for the Furious 7 movie this year.

“We’ve been talking with the folks at Turn 10 for a number of years and have always wanted to work together,” EVP of digital licensing at Universal Bill Kispert told the Associated Press.

It was a matter of schedules, capacity and a film coming together at the right time. It finally has, and we’re excited to collaborate with Turn 10.

So what’s in the expansion pack? Players will be tasked with gathering vehicles in a prequel mission set before Furious 7, for Tej Parker, who is portrayed by Chris “Ludacris” Bridges in the film. Such cars include the 1970 Dodge Charger R/T driven by Vin Diesel’s character from the first Fast and Furious film, as well as other cars like the 1998 Toyota Supra, 1970 Plymouth Road Runner, 2012 Nissan GT-R, 1970 Plymouth Cuda, 2013 Jeep Wrangler, 2014 Maserati Ghibli S and 2015 Dodge Charger.

The catch here, is that this content won’t be free for long. It’ll be available from March 27 until April 10 for zero bucks in order to promote the Furious 7 film. From then on, you’ll be shelling out $10 for it.

I didn’t mention Driveclub. I think people care about it as much as The Fighter Within

“for zero bucks in order to promote the Furious 7 film” Yeah two things. Firstly you’d promote the first movie not the seventh in the series. By now people either hate it or love it. On a sad note the death of Paul Walker has done more to promote the movie anyways. Secondly this is a clever move from them. This will boost Forza sales quite nicely. Heck I bet some even buy a XBOX just for this. Well played.
