Forza001 (1)

I may suck like a world class hooker at racing games, but at least I…Crap, I got nothing. That being said, I still enjoy racing games, even if I happen to be terrible at them. Forza returns this year, just in time for the Xbox One launch. Here’s what the special edition for that game will include

The Forza Motorsport 5 limited edition comes with your usual fancy cover, but the rest of the extra content available is primarily digital. According to Xbox Wire, you’ll get the following vehicles with which to angrily chase after motorcyclists when those bastards dare to overtake you:

  • 2011 Audi RS 3 Sportback
  • 2012 Aston Martin Vanquish
  • 2013 Ford M Shelby Mustang GT500
  • 2013 McLaren P1™
  • 2013 SRT Viper GTS

Players also get access to some VIP Membership which includes the following:

  • 2x player reward acceleration
  • Access to exclusive multiplayer events
  • Exclusive in-game player card badge
  • In-game gifts from the Forza community team

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE! More cars to be exact. The VIP Car Pack includes:

  • 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C
  • 1987 RUF CTR Yellowbird
  • 1991 Mazda #55 787B
  • 2011 Ford F150 SVT Raptor
  • 2011 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

And that’s the Limited Edition of the game wrapped up. Oh wait dammit, there’s another duper edition on the way. The Day One version of the game has “Day One commemorative packaging with artwork that matches the Xbox One Day One console design” and the following cars:

Day One commemorative packaging with artwork that matches the Xbox One Day One console design

  • 2010 Audi TT RS Coupe
  • 2013 Ford Focus ST
  • 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera

I like the Limited Edition so far. Most days, Extra digital content is a bunch of fluff that has no real impact on the game. Which is what you’re getting here in a smaller amount for Forza 5, along with a crapload of other more relevant downloadable goodies. Top that Gran Turismo.

  1. i don’t like these special editions.
it feels more like they’re removing content from the game, and charging extra to have it all.

that said, with FM4, i did enjoy getting those gift cars from Turn 10.

Well, GT gave you loads of digital cars also and one guy a real Merc SLS. Not bad…

Forza 5 looks pretty awesome currently. If only the Xbox supported the G25 / G27, I would’ve had so much more trouble deciding which console to buy…

Meh! Cut content delivered as if it’s bonus. That gets a massive thumbs down from me.

So many games… so little time. Looks like I will have to start going through the night playing in order to catch up with my backlog lol.

Man, I want this game! Forza, for me, has been the best racing simulator of this generation. Would love to see what they can do on next-gen, but still wary of the Xbox-One… Will have to wait and see…

What i like to see more varied body parts for cars just for the pure art of customization. I know most people arent fans of body kits, but its cool to have that option there for those who full customization. Forza 4 has a bit less stuff than Forza 2 which was quite shocking considering that its suppose to add basically to the latest iteration. Lets hope they make the game bigger instead of just adding in what they feel is best.

Will Forza 5 play on XBox 360? When can we expect the new NFS Shift?

As a massive, massive Forza fan and a huge petrol head I’m pretty disappointed in this. I mean, what happened to the good old days of buying collector’s editions because there was something to collect? Why not, at a beefier price of course, package the game with a really great model of the cover car? I mean Audi is pushing sponsorship on FM5 again it seems, like it did with FM3, so why on earth not have a really decent R8 or RS7 or LeMans Racer model come with the Collector’s?

I almost can’t think of another genre of game that is so easily catered to when it comes to nice collectible items that can be packaged with it.
