Free map DLC coming to Evolve this month

Evolve’s a great big deal of fun when played with the right people – but it’s hard to get a group of like-minded players together all the time. As a result, we’ve seen player numbers drop significantly on the PC version. Console gamers, likewise, have said that it seem that just a core group continues to play the game. What the game needs then, is some DLC to shake things up. Thankfully, all of its maps will be free. And it’s getting two new ones, soon.

GameInformer posted about the new maps, citing and linking the Evolve site as a source. Since then though, both have pulled their info, suggesting somebody letting a cat out of a bag a little early.

Here’s what Gameinformer said, as you can see from their webcache.

The two maps take place below the planet’s surface in a collection of mining caves. Both maps will be free and will be available first on Xbox One on March 31. On April 30, Broken Hill Mine and Broken Hill Foundry will be made available for the PC and PlayStation 4 versions of Evolve.

So brand new maps on Xbox One this month, and hitting the other platforms a month later. Will this bring you back – or are your monster-hunting days over?

They still haven’t stopped. I’ve unlocked every character and monster, but am yet to complete the second tier of challenges for most of them, and haven’t completed the last tier of challenges for any. Still really loving this game. But I do play SP a lot when the friends aren’t online. More fun playing with bots than strangers.

This is too late, they need to accelerate the process and now. They are going to lose way too many players by then, especially with the one month exclusive for Xbox. Im playing it on Xbox and even with it coming earlier, the end of this month feels like its too far off for most people to still keep interest. Me personally, I’ve been enjoying this game an insane amount, but as I mentioned on Twitter today, things seem to be taking a heavy dip as of this past weekend.

The DLC and the lack of any real SP made me skip this. Plus I cant always get five people together to play the game.

        once again i dont understand?

the dlc you refer to is skins whoopty

and for people complaining about no SP, they need to realise its a different kind of game, similar to cs etc which far out lived any sp game with purely mp an like one map (dust2) (– lol

Well the skins are R20 a pop as a start and if you like customizing you’re gonna pay dearly for it but that’s fine, like you said it’s a different game targeted for a specific audience

I feel sorry for a game like this that trys something different, as the internet rage controls peoples perceptions. My group of players mostly dont see the appeal but I can see the interwebs rage has a great effect

meh, its universally seen as a great game, awesome balance except for the wraith. and free content is coming. but i do agree its absolutelymy fav when played with a grp of friends and just above average with randoms

Luckily they made their money, admittedly even more so on the DLC so there will be a sequel and I promise you that they are already looking at ways to get more people interested.
