Gameloft are mostly known for their blatant rip offs interesting repurposing of popular games for the mobile phone market. Generally, they do a pretty good job; iOS games like their Halo clone inspired N.O.V.A, Shadow guardian, their take on Uncharted and others are actually rather fun, well realised games.
They’re now bringing a game to PSN, and it looks mighty familiar. Called Modern Combat Domination, this team-based multiplayer FPS seems to be the illegitimate love-child of Call of Duty : Modern Warfare and Counter-Strike. It doesn’t look at all bad, actually. The game will ship with 5 maps and will cost just $7.99. That’s $52 less than the latest shooters on release. As a bonus? It supports Playstation Move. For 8 bucks (55 ZAR), I’m willing to take a chance.
The folks at Gameloft seem pretty talented, I just wish they’d apply themselves a little more, creating new games instead of copying others.

As far as I know Ubisoft does not own gameloft. They may be run by brothers but thats as far as I am aware it goes.
There were some counter strike moments in there.

Sorry, you’re right. Ubi did have a majority stake, but sold it in 2007. Edited.
