Gamerlobby Paintball Day – The Woods – JHB

In real life, there is no respawn there is only pain and paint and we think that’s awesome.

The Gamerlobby Paintball day that we posted about a short while ago took place last Saturday at The Woods in Johannesburg and we were there to get our butts painted all sorts of colours in the name of gaming goodness.

Knowing that so many of us gamers need nothing short of an actual fire to get us to walk out of the front door, we feared the worst in terms of turnout but at the end of the day we had a good group of people together to get the pain started and so it began.

Check out our photos of pain and people drinking beer, after the jump.

The whole day turned out to be a great success and I would like to thank Gamerlobby.net for organising the event as well as The Woods for being an awesome venue for events like this. A big thanks to all the gamers who made an effort to come out and get painted with us, we hope to do it more often. To any of our readers, I really recommend joining us next time, even if you are only there for the braai and the beer.

Unfortunately, we had a bit of a downer at the end of the day when the one and only Halo legend, known to most on Xbox Live as NLMVP, had his Bakkie stolen from the parking area.

We know a lot of people who hang out at the Woods every weekend and this is unfortunately the first time that something like this had happened and it had to happen to us… gamer’s always get the worst luck. He hasn’t decided if it was Elites or Brutes that stole his car but I am sure that he will issue an extreme amount of tea-bagging if he ever finds them.

Thanks again to all who were there, we hope to do it again soon.

So, onto the photos.

^ Korbin ZA’s tattoo did a good job of dodging the paintballs. Too bad we can’t say the same for Korbin.

^ After a long search, Devon (Left) from Gamerlobby.net still couldn’t find his helmet anywhere.

^ NLMVP’s obsession with Halo was going a little too far

Mark (and the alien phallus meat) watched as I called out to Devon, who had jumped into the braai in search of his helmet.

^ Danny, our handheld games reviewer, played Pokemon rules with the paintballs, apparently he wanted to “collect ’em all”? That’s one way of doing it.

Thats so sad. They must have targeted. I cant believe they did it though because the one range is right next to the parking. I am sure they are going to be organising security now.

    Shodan,

ever since that weekend they have a permanent guard looking after the cars, I wish we caught the a$$-holes that stole the cars, man it would have been a paint fest!!!!!
