There is a very suprising news story doing the rounds this morning. 1Up.com is reporting that the next iterations of the American Football games will all run much better on the 360…
They cited Madden NFL 08 (August), All-Pro Football 2K8 (July) and NCAA Football 08 (July) will all run at a perfect 60 frames per second on the Xbox 360.. while running at a paltry 30 frames per second on the PS3.
What would Sony’s response be to this? Well it’s Sony of course so ratchet up the arrogance level and
“We have already proven that sports titles can run on the PlayStation 3 at true HD with 1080p output with NBA 07,” says Dave Karraker, Sony CEA’s senior director of corporate communications. “If you have questions about specific third-party games, you should speak to those publishers.”
So in other words, it’s not our problem blame the developer… According to the developer they have chosen the best setup for each console and you will be very happy with either version.. umm yeah. I’ll happily pay more for a game that runs worse than it does on my half priced console.. Makes sense.
Granted these games are not very popular here but they do sell millions of copies in the US and therefore will have a profound impact on the console wars….
E3 can’t come quick enough for Sony.
