To kick off their Gamescom 2014 press conference, Sony decided to briefly talk about how well the PlayStation 4 has been doing since launch late last year. We know it’s been selling like hotcakes worldwide, but the total figure is staggering.
Ready? The PlayStation 4 has sold, to consumers, over 10 million units since launch. That’s in less than a year since release. Let that sink in for a bit.
Sony weren’t mixing words either. They made it abundantly clear that this was the number sold to us, the gamers. There’s 10 million Ps4 consoles sitting in front of TV’s worldwide, and that’s something Sony should be very proud of.

10 million potential sales lost SE. Yes, I’m still salty.
Congrats Sony, now let’s see about 15 million by the end of 2014.

Here’s a gem from Don Mattrick, “History has shown us that the first company to reach 10 million in console sales wins the generation battle.”
Well done gamers for choosing the PS4 has this generations console.
