After months of speculation it has finally been confirmed that DayZ will be landing on consoles with Dean Hall, creator of DayZ, appearing on the Sony PlayStation stage and confirming that his game will be coming first to the PlayStation 4.

According to Dean the collaboration with Sony has given the team the ability to install 64bit servers which not only allow the game to be released to the Sony platform but will also increase the game experience for the million PC players who currently inhabit the world.

DayZ started as a pet project for Dean Hall and little did he know that within 3 years he would be standing on one of the biggest gaming stages in the world announcing a brand new version of his mod for the PlayStation 4.

What’s even more surprising is that the community of DayZ grew out of 4Chan which makes this possibly the only good thing to ever come out of 4Chan…. okay I’m kidding but seriously that board has some dodgy sides to it.

It wasn’t entirely clear if the game is a timed or permanent exclusive on the PS4, we are presuming a timed exclusive.

Okay … sooo … the game is still in alpha and he promised no console plans till at least halfway through beta. Yep sounds about right … he made too much money off ea.

Edit: Also what happens to Sony’s H1Z1? Did they ditch it cause it looked stupid?
