It’s official: Final Fantasy XV is coming to PC next year. Or in the parlance of those trendy tweens, FF XV ASAP 2015 on PC. See? I’m cool! I’m hip! My Macarena dance moves bring all the girls to the yard! Anyway, Final Fantasy XV was a hit on console despite some middling reviews, with the current version apparently plugging some holes in the narrative and structure of a game that was a decade in the making. Here’s what Zoe still had to say about it last year:

A vast, emotional experience that offers many hours of gameplay. Would benefit from more storytelling in the actual game instead of outside media, as well as a few other minor tweaks, but still a fantastic journey that is lingering with me days after watching the credits roll.

So what do PC players get to show off about with the upcoming port? According to the Nvidia Gamescom press conference reveal today via VG247, said players with the hardiest of PC rigs will be able to run a game that sports “4K high res textures, Dolby Atmos, realistic turf, advanced hair simulation, combustible fluid, fire and smoke simulation, advanced shadow alogrithmns, high quality ambient occlusion, Ansel screenshots.”

There’s more to it than all of that of course, so feast your eyes on this trailer which shows the game running on the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti:

As for that “early 2018” release date? I’d wager that would be around February, which happens to be the new November of the year for gaming releases.
