Is the world ready for a streaming future? Maybe, maybe not but the real takeaway here is that Google’s plan for tomorrow is going to be a pricy one. The infrastructure needed to handle a decent full high definition livestream ain’t exactly cheap, and bundled together with the need to have a workhorse screen to play said games on, the subscription service costs and the final price of the game, and you’d understand why some people are hesitant to ditch their consoles for a web browser.
Can Google’s latest Connect event for the Stadia service sway hearts and minds over to their side? Who knows, but it’s still pretty damn interesting to see just how much Google is investing in the game-streaming service and the names that it happens to be attracting on over.
