Gametag – Is this the new DS flugelbinder?

GameTag

You know those inventions that you see in store one day and you instantly think “Why didn’t I think of that?” well this is possibly yet another one of those moments.

Janene Samuel a 42 year old housewife from Australia has invented one of the simplest gaming accessories ever for the humble Nintendo DS and yet it’s one that I just need to get my hands on.

The Gametag is simply a lanyard with a bunch of tags on the end that you can stick your DS cartridges onto and then presto you have the simplest and most convenient cartridge holder on the market.

What makes it useful is that you can connect the lanyard to your DS and have all your titles with you at all times…

The Gametag was invented because her kids kept on losing games, something  my kids have a fondness for as well, and while it is only available in Australia for now I wouldn’t be surprised to see this making inroads into your local gaming store in the near future.

The only question is whether or not they can lower that cost when selling it outside of Australia as the rest of the world isn’t going to be stumbling over themselves to buy a lanyard for R150 ($20).

No word yet on whether it can hold Nintendo 3DS cartridges.. I guess we’ll need those to be released first before we can test it.
