Gears 2 debacle clarified

Microsoft has officially come out to clarify the confusion that is currently swirling around the Gears of War 2 debacle…

What debacle you may ask? Well I asked the same thing as this is the first I had heard about it.

Apparently a bunch of PC gamers got very upset because it was rumoured that Gears of War 2 was going to be a Xbox 360 exclusive. Well Microsoft has come out and confirmed that there are currently no plans to release Gears of War 2 on the PC at this time.

So great now everything is cleared up, apart from the fact that they always say that and there were no plans to release Gears 1 on the PC either. For that matter there were no plans to release Bioshock or Lost Planet on the PC or PS3 either.. or Final Fantasy on the 360…  It’s a pointless comment really.

Gears of War 2 may one day end up on the PC just like it’s predecessor did, however it will only be long after it is released on the 360 so if you want to play the game this year then you are going to have to get yourself a 360.

There we go, non-existent debacle solved.

Naturaly it will be on the pc a year after. First max profit on console and then get some more on the pc.

haha, i bought my X-box for Gears 1 thinking that it would never come to PC, and then… a year later I had to upgrade my PC just to get the full experience of this game… No Regrets, but still, I think most games in future are gonna hit consoles first, with PC vestions being released once console sales figured die down.

I love news like this, I still take a lot of flak from my PC gamer friends cause of my preference for consoles.

If you look at games microsoft published a lot of them end up on the pc at the end of the day, Halo, Gears, Jade empire, Mass Effect,
    kotor etc.

That sux, but hey, it’s bound to be ported SOMETIME.
Same thing with Mass Effect 2. It’ll be exclusive to the
360 for a certain time and then it’ll be ported to the PC.
There are very few “exclusives” these days. It’s more a
timed exclusive period. I just hope it doesn’t take another year,
because I really wanna play it. Plus “Games for Windows” are pretty
    dried up at the moment.

i don’t know how they can call this a debacle. Exclusives are common.

The crappy part comes in when they release the first game
and then not the sequels. Come on, that’s just WRONG 😉
Especially if it’s a trilogy that follows on the story, so expect the
same thing when Assassin’s Creed 2 gets released.

Was that to justify the price of their consoles? 😛
If I have to get a second job, then there won’t be any time
left for playing games and drinking. And we can’t have that
    now can we 😈
My Pc serves me just fine thanx 😉
