Some news has made it’s way to us via a tip from one of our readers (Thanks Loki) that the Gears of War 2 Flashback map pack has now become available for download over Xbox Live Marketplace.
While some of you may be ecstatic that you will finally be able to download the maps ( with the help of a VPN ), it is quite understandable that a lot of you are going to just be more upset about the fact that South Africans didn’t receive map codes from the beginning, especially because the pack is going to cost extra.
The good news is that while you still do have to pay extra for the maps, they are at least priced at only 400 MS points, so the damage is minimal.
Will any of you be downloading the maps?

I call bullshit on that, why should people have to pay for something that came with the game for free in the first place.

Well, i understand the cost. The whole point of not putting the maps on the disc in the first place was to give people an incentive to buy the game new instead of second hand. So putting it at a cost is for those who bought the game second-hand and would also like the maps.
As for us. We paid for it. MS should just check our IPs and let us have it for free. (yeah, i know, won’t happen because “Live isn’t supported in your region”)
Don’t think i’ll pay the 400MSP unless my whole clan is keen on it. I still want my farking golden lancer!

seriously uncool 2.0!
Now I have to pay more for something which I should have gotten for free, not to mention the cost of the VPN ip restriction bypass. I also want my golden lancer.

I don’t actually like the golden guns, except when someone in the opposing team is using one. I is to easy to spot someone using a golden gun.
