So you’re finally getting an Xbox, and you want to see what all the fuss is about, as just about everyone else is raving about this Gears of War game that is due out in September. You get yourself one of the previous games, join a few multiplayer matches, and expect it to be a fun experience where you can kill a few guys and earn some praise in the process. Except that every time you start, some jerk manages to chainsaw you in half. Over and over again. Frustrating, right? Good thing then that Epic Games wants to keep you separate from all the other hardcore players then.

Speaking at the San Diego Comic Con over the weekend, series creator Cliff Blezinski confirmed that the latest Gears game will be more forgiving to newcomers who are looking for some multiplayer fun.The game will check for any previous Gears data, and deny those people access to the arenas in which newcomers can practice. "It’s like reverse VIP", said Bleszinski.

Aim assists will also be present in the newcomer arenas, similar to how the single-player campaigns help players when they choose to play on the lower difficulty settings. Executive Producer Rod Fergusson claims that Gears 3 will be the easiest and best game in the franchise for beginners to play.

Its a great idea from the side of Epic games, as no one likes being instantly outclassed when they start a game, while veterans will no doubt appreciate being able to play with teammates who aren’t going to mess up the squad strategy.
