Cliff Bleszinski has confirmed to CVG that Gears of War 3 will not include any theatre mode of the ability to upload in game screenshots to the Internet for sharing.
That in itself doesn’t bother me at all as when I got Gears of War 2 I thought it would be awesome being able to take some screenshots for the reviews and also for showing people how uber l33t I was at the game.
However for the first few months the functionality never seemed to work for me and everytime I took a screenshot my game started to lag and I would get destroyed.
Then I started realising that I was trying to time my screenshot taking to capture the most effective shot for no real reason other than to ruin my immersion levels.
So it being gone is no worry for me, I would have still liked to upload the entire game to YouTube at the end of a game if it had gone exceedingly well but I can live without that.
Mr Bleszinksi (don’t hurt us again) has backed up the reason for removing the features by saying that very few people outside of the super hardcore ever even used the feature and that with all the other features they are including they just won’t have time to bring it back.
