GeoHot lands Facebook job

Here’s a life lesson folks; Being a bit of a dick , hacking iPhones, obliterating PlayStation security and becoming embroiled in a bitter court case could land you a job at one of the largest, most prolific companies on the planet. It’s done the trick for notorious hacker George Hotz – otherwise known as GeoHot – who’s been confirmed to now be under the employ of the internet giants responsible for countless hours of lost office productivity – Facebook.

According to those with access to his private Facebook account, he’s been a Facebook employee since May, and has been turning down hacking opportunities because he "doesn’t want that much attention." The same insiders say that according to Hotz “Facebook is really an amazing place to work…”As I’ve said before, GeoHot is an incredibly talented hacker and that’s worthy of a little respect; but the way he released the PS3 root keys for the glory and attention and that debacle’s subsequent result in PSN hacks and downtime means I have little love for the guy. It’s probably a good thing that he’ll now be using his technical prowess for good…well as good as Facebook could possibly be, if you believe the anti-trust and privacy allegations.

This probably (and thankfully) put an end to his promising hip-hop career though.
